2 properties I have permission to hunt on I decided to purchase the landowners(both ladies) a yankee scented candle as an appreciate gift. I'll stop by this week too wish them happy holidays and give them the gift.

Other than help with handyman tasks what else have people offered or given to landowners to show appreciation? I thought the candles were a good idea for the ladies because every time they light it they'll think about where it came from.

I've mailed restaurant gift cards and delivered deer jerky and summer sausage.

Maybe just ask. Try to find something worth more than money to them. Walleye fillets - cucumbers in the fall - a ride to the doctor???? I know my landowners weakness.....Alaskan Halibut. Lucky I have a great friend that lives in Anchorage. He does a few halibut trips a year and his brother lives on the Copper River. That means Copper River Reds (best Salmon in the world) and Halibut to my landowner. Expecting a large box after new years. Most likely a couple of packages of Caribou and maybe......just maybe.....Moose too. Life is good. Sorry, not enough Moose to share.

I always bring them fresh lobster tails and a bottle of wine.

Deer meat is the usual but on leaner years I have done honey baked hams, cardinals/blues tickets, gift cards etc.

Also the landowners of my duckhole are very old. I make it a priority to shovel their driveway and just stop in to see if they’re ok in the winter time. Hell I shovel theirs before I get to mine lol

We've done homemade sausage and deer salmi and that seems to go over well.

Maybe that’s why I got the door slammed in my face and lost that spot! Lol

I tried buying my land owners a gift certificate to their favorite restaurant one year, and they wouldn't take it. Told me to use it to take my wife out. I tried to get them to take it, and the wife said to me, "Do yoiu like hunting our land"? Of course I said yes! She said, "If you ever want to hunt out there again, yoiu will use it with your wife". And I knew she meant it... So my wife and I enjoyed a nice night out to dinner..
