    My questions are around section 9-3 (c-2)

    This looks like any handgun with a detachable magazine is listed. Can anyone clarify?

    That's the way I gathered it, at first they were going to go for pump shotgun as well. But see they took out, bolt, slide, pump and lever from inclusion as an assault shotgun. But for handguns it is confusing to me. Says anything with a detachable magazine but then als o goes into magazines with higher than 30 round capacity and magazines that attach to the grips and such.

    They drafted it so quick and released it just as fast. i hope that alone shoots it down. Hopefully no news is good news, but this is Illinois where silencers are only for hidden agendas in the legislature

    Yah, I don't understand that one either. Section C states detachable mag + other item. Then c-2 just says detachable mag...

    Thhats how Illinois get things passed, sneak in a bunch of crap that don't make sense, then when people complain about it they're like well it was right in there the whole time.

    The handgun thing is confusing and then there's this:

    B) a semi-automatic rifle or pump-action rifle
    that has an ability to accept a detachable magazine and
    has any of the following:
    (i) a folding or telescoping stock;
    (ii) a pistol grip or thumbhole stock;
    (iii) a shroud that is attached to, or
    partially or completely encircles the barrel, and
    that permits the shooter to hold the firearm with
    the non-trigger hand without being burned;

    Couldn't (iii) be interpreted with any rifle with a fore-end , hand-guard?? Doesn't any stock permit the shooter to hold the firearm with the non-trigger hand being burned?

    I'm listening to live audio of the general assembly now. They're talking about child sexual abuse education in school right now.

    Some anti-gun lady is speaking right now. She just said that 'assault weapons' are the weapons of choice of gang members. Hahahahaha. Dumb broad.

    She also said that the ban is a great "first step".

    You can listen by clicking on the audio link for room 409
