I'm a tenant on 2500+ acres and own 350. A chunk of the tenant ground is new ~700 acres so I have nothing there yet. I have 5 on my 350 owned and 10 on the remaining 1800. I have one elevated 12'x12' permanent here at home, and 4 ladder stands. The other ten are all ladder stands. I also have a climber I use on occasion. I leave the ladder stands out and check the straps every so often. Planning on buying at least five more stands this year for the new ground but got side tracked with trail cams and a new bow rig....
2 stands on 40 acres 1 stand on 11 acres I also have my Lone Wolf w/ sticks ready in the garage in case I have to set up last minute or I get a new opportunity throughout the season.
I have 1 stand on 8.5 acres. There are 2 other people hunting my property and if one isn't there I could use their stand too so I potentially have a choice of 3 stands.
14 stands on 250 acres for 4 guys. Plus we all have climbers and tents if we need them for ambush stands. The 14 ladders and hang on stay up year round.
I have 12 stands on about 200 acres, most are left out all year. I move a few every once in awhile depending on crop rotation. 6 ladders. 5 hang ons. 1 climber.
2 Stands on 80 acres. Use my climber on occasion. Then I have a lock-on stand for bow hunting right beside my house on a little 2-acre hardwood spot that my grandpa owns. The best set up I have is the one right beside my house. I would rather hunt there than anywhere else. It's situated where I can hunt with any wind except a west wind. A west wind is extremely rare where I live, during hunting season anyway. I'll be in it on OCT 1 !!!!!
I have a hard enough time trying to figure out which one I'm going to with only 21 out . 70 would give me way to many chances at guessing wrong
I run 3 ladder stands, one try-pod swivel seat nestled into some younger pines, one lock on, and there are a total of 11 trees that I have gone up with lone wolf/sticks. I typically only go in 2 or 3 of those 11 trees anymore. I am strictly going to run lone wolf/sticks combo on a 23 acre hobby farm that I got permission to hunt this year. When I walked it there where trees everywhere that where perfect for the stand and sticks.
I try not to guess.. ,but I'm wrong 90 % of the time. Seriously though; out of all those stand to chose from some of them never get hunted in any given year for one resaon or another. They are also shared stands --There are several hunting buddies that lease with us and family that also hunt them from time to time.
3 ladder, 2 hang-on, and another hang-on packed up ready to go wherever I need to be. 78 acres. Looking to add a climber soon.
I have no idea how many sticks/trees I have setup but I only have 2 lone wolf stands. I purchased a box of 50 hooks from lone wolf. I welded the hooks to a 3 inch by 3 inch steel plate. I then Lag bolt the hook/plate to the tree. I leave my sticks and screw in steps in all year. When I'm ready to hunt I backpack my lone wolf to the tree. I put the lone wolf on the hook and within 15 seconds I'm in my stand. ~ I use to run cheapo stands, sold approximate 30-35 of them when I covered to the newer setup. Lone wolf is so much more quiet and comfortable.
Between permanent stands and manufacturer ladder stands/hang-ons, & tri-pods, my last count was around 90 stands on 720 acres. (however 200 of those acres are crappy, non-productive marshes.) However this includes gun season and bow season stands. We leave all of the stands out/set up all year long. YES, I know they should be brought in after the season, but we just don't do it. Each year, during the final weekend in August we go thru the property and check the status of all the stands and repair/replace as needed.
2 ladders 1 hang on 1 climber On 15 acres. Is it overkill, maybe, but 1 ladder and the hang on are in oaks and the other ladder is at a point where 5 well used trails merge. The climber is for bedding area only if I have a prospect.
