in just a few minutes I'll be heading out to Mack's Prairie Wings in Stuttgart, Arkansas to look at new bows.

There are closer bow shops but these guys are top-notch.

I've shot the new bows for the last two years and nothing yet has impressed me enough to replace my Heli-m, but I am anxious to test out the Triax and shoot a few others.

The Triax will really have to live up to it's reputation for me to buy one.

If I do end up with one I'm leaning towards a Spot Hogg Fast Eddie XL double pin sight to put on it.

This is about the only time I get excited about shopping.

Take your checkbook..................I shot the Triax two weeks ago. My pro shop let me put about 30 arrows through it, bought it on the spot.

The pro-shop needs to know your god like killing ability upfront!!

    Have fun!

I agree with this! After the season you had, you need to know the "Killing Capacity" on anything you buy! Have fun.

Good luck man! It's nice to be able to go shopping for something like that out of want rather than need. It lets a person be rather picky about what you get. I like Mathews color options too, I like to get on their website and mess around with the configuration bow builder thing. Hoyt has something kinda similar but it sucks compared to Mathews site. Hoyt also doesn't offer a stone grey and that's my favorite.

I second this! I shoot a prime now, went to the local shop early January and shot everything they had, Triax, all of the Elites (they didnt have a ritual at that time), a Halon, the Realm and Realm X, a Centergy and the Logic. I like shorter ATA and found myself bouncing back and forth between the Triax and Logic. When they got a Ritual in I went back and shot the Triax, Logic and Ritual, all of them are fantastic shooting bows but ended up ordering the Logic. Overall it was just a little more solid overall to me, was easier to hold on target and is actually closer to the IBO rating in some real world testing than the Triax was. All of the 2018 bows are good, its hard to make a decision between some of them.

IMG_2338.JPG Hey, for anyone who shoots a Spot Hogg Fast Eddie XL - what is this part?

We can't figure out what it's for?

You clamp it to the sight so you have a positive stop. You can place it so you can turn your yardage dial until it hits the stop at any yardage you want. For example, adjust your sight to 20 yards. Slide that on and clamp it down. Say you then adjust your yardage and shoot at 40 yards. You can then turn the dial until it stops from hitting that and you know your pin is at 20 yards without looking.

We tried that. I'll do some checking when I get home, but we couldn't find a place it fit.

I was going to wait until I got home and post a couple of decent pics, but I ended up walking out the door $1500 lighter with a new Triax/QAD Ultra HDX rest and a Spot Hogg Fast Eddie XL 2 pin sight.

I was very impressed with this bow.

It goes on the vertical bar with teeth that the gear runs up and down. It is called the rack stop.

Nothing like that feeling of a new bow. Congrats!

I edited my post. It was supposed to say "we couldn't find a place it fit".

So far I haven't figured out how to make it fit on the vertical bar. It's too small.

    I'll try tomorrow.

Oh, I also picked up a dozen Gold Tip Velocity Pro 300 arrow shafts. That is what pushed the total up.

Once you're there, you might as well get EVERYTHING you need. My one and only bow buying experience had a very similar exiting price. :)

Thanks. I'll figure out what we were doing wrong when I get home today.
