I was lucky enough to get an invite for a bowhunt. 10 minutes into the stand and there’s turkeys talking, ducks splashing in the creek behind me, and a deer staring at me.
Thought it was doe, out at 40 yards so out of my comfort zone, standing where I had rubbed some Evercalm on a tree. I’m pretty sure this same deer wandered around me at 50 yards for an hour finally coming to 25 yards, broadside, and THUMP! The NAP Doublecross hammered it a little back and higher than I wanted. Ran maybe 40 yards with pretty good blood trail before piling up. Turned out to be a button buck, and I’m thrilled to put a tag on it. My fall is off to an AWSOME start. I work overtime all summer so I can enjoy this time of year, and the tenderloin for dinner tasted so good the family wanted more.

    Safe hunts out there y’all.

Threw a pic in there. Should have posed with it but I’m pretty rusty at actually killing deer with a bow. I hope my luck has changed.

After watching the deer run about 30 yards I found this along the trail. Covered red, and the blades clogged with fur.

I did not shoot a deer last year and have not shot a buck the last two seasons, I am starting to get desperate.

I’m thrilled to get meat in the freezer, now I can hopefully wait (probably shoot the next deer in range) for a buck with visible horns.

Picked up my meat from the butcher today.:moose:
On the way home I saw a young stud buck, neck all puffed up, walking a tree line at 1 PM.
Really wish I was in there with my bow.

    Good luck out there Y’all.
