I spend most of my time listening to local talk radio when I drive but when I am out in the shop I listen to music. I listen to all kinds of music but the radio has been on country this week. I heard a new to me song that I like Darius Rutger Going Straight To Hell. It actually sounds like country music not the current bro country. What favorites do you have?
Every time I listen to country radio now days I end up turning it to a rock station. Nobody really main stream plays great country imo. Check out Turnpike Troubadors. They are starting to get attention, but I've liked em for years as far as country goes. Sturgill Simpson is pretty awesome. Sounds a lot like Waylon. Darius Rucker. Formerly of Hootie and the Blowfish. That is a good song. I have been rocking a Chris Stapleton channel on Pandora. Lots of good stuff coming across that once I finally made the matrix understand I do not want to hear Old Dominion or Zac Brown on a country station; ever. Sturgill is one of the bands I was introduced to via the Stapleton channel. Good stuff.
By the way that link to Sturgill...it has some cuss words so keep in mind before blasting it at work or around the kids. Lol Sent from my SM-G960U using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
It's that time of year, so I've been listening to Battle of Evermore by Zeppelin. That song reminds me of the fall and hunting, I think because I was listening to a lot of zeppelinwhen I was 14 and just starting to hunt. Same goes for Metallica, And Justice For All album.
Bo Burnham- Pandering. My response to any and all top 40 bro country. I got into my tractor the other day and one of my farm hands had left something called Mini Thin on the radio, it's hick hop or country rap aka c-rap. Just a bunch of inbred trash. I've been listening to a lot of Town Mountain and Sturgill Simpson lately. Saw David Byrne in concert last month, 4th row center, best show I have seen in a long time.
You posted this while I was writing! Hell yeah! I have seen Sturgill three times in concert, hellavu good show!
This guy reminds me of the great Johnny Cash. Great song. Love me some Outlaws. Sent from my SM-G960U using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
If you are not opposed to paying for music ( lots are) I suggest Google play. You can hand select every song and comprise playlists as big as you want. I have 5 playlists and never hear a song that I don't want to. Added bonus Google mini is awesome. I have one in my bedroom barn and kitchen. All you do is say... Hey Google play (any song) .... And it comes on. I haven't stumped it yet
Might have to look into that google mini that sounds nice Sent from my iPad using Bowhunting.com Forums
Most songs by Florida Georgia Line.... Sike (they are NOT country artists). 93x morning show in the mornings on my commute and Bob FM on my way home. Some songs by Luke Combs are pretty good. He's the only country artist I've listened to on Spotify recently.
You'll need to get a petition started because no man/woman here would vote yes to that. I suggest starting at some middle/high schools, I heard they are the main fan base.
