Well, this was a little weird. This buck was curious about my raptor set. This a perch with fake mice that I put out in the spring to attract hawks and owls. This guy got pretty curious about it though. It's amazing that he's still holding on to his rack this late. This was taken on 03/27/20
Man that's a good question. I've had pics of many bucks the last several years with split or funky brows. Sent from my SM-N950U using Tapatalk
not just his antlers...looks like he's still holding his winter coat, too. Heck, if you had asked me I would have guessed the pic was from mid October. All the deer I've seen in the past few weeks are getting patchy and ratty looking as they shed their coats.
I've seen bucks with antlers that late as well. I was out shed hunting and kicked up a buck still holding both antlers, came back a week later (April 7th) and found one antler near his bed. Somewhere I have a trail cam pic of two bucks running toward my camera with one carrying and one with new growth already started. BTW, great pics. I like the one with the buck chewing the mouse.
Some great pics! I had 3 fawns run out in front of me this week. Strange for them to be running out of a thicket, so I stopped to see why. There was a buck chasing them around and he still had a full rack. I guess one of the fawns was ready to breed. Definitely seem later then usually Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
