Went out mushroom hunting yesterday and snapped a pic of my plot with the redbud's blooming. Planted this last fall and frost seeded it twice, once at the end of February and then again mid-March, to fill it in a little better. Coming along nicely..
It's getting there. 3 years worth of rotation getting enough organic matter worked into the sandy clay soil so I could finally plant a perennial plot.
Was out at the farm yesterday. Clover plot is super thick and they're beating it up pretty good. The taller bushy looking clover is Blackhawk Arrowleaf clover, it's still flowering strong so I am waiting for the flowers to dry out a little more before I mow.
Should be good for hunting this fall. Since it's not hunting season, let me make a suggestion. Bill Dance once said that when the redbuds are blooming, the bass are on their beds. So...go fishing!
