I will when I get him back from taxidermist! After i got him into my truck, I took him right over, not even thinking to measure him!!
100 might stretch him a bit, but it really doesn't matter. He is your best buck and a good looking deer to be proud of. Congrats on that.
Glenn, he's prolly a tad short of 100", but that doesn't discredit the accomplishment. Congrats, because he's a nice buck, especially for Long Island not being a big buck mecca.
A trophy should only be measured by how happy it makes the hunter. The only person you need to please is yourself. That said, I'd be proud of that buck too! Congrats!
Great looking deer! Probably just under 100”. The one I killed this year was a similar looking 8 point with far more width and a little more mass. He scored 110 5/8”. Congrats again. He will look great on the wall. Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
Does not matter the score he will look good on the wall congrats. There is a curse with mounting a buck head when it comes to shooting the next buck. I have been pissed at myself for letting bucks walk wondering why in the hell is a buck not acceptable after shooting one of a certain size. I used to be so much more enthusiastic when I didn't have to ignore a buck unless it was bigger than what I have shot before.
put it this way. he would make every hunters' heart skip a beat! I have several bucks of that size and am proud of every one of them.
Great buck. NY is no Iowa this I know. But I love every buck I kill with my bow as it is symbolic of all the time I put to get him. Be proud brother.
Well done, that would be my best buck as well! Any bow kill, especially where you are, is something to be proud of.
That's a great buck for NY... Nothing wrong with him. He'll be right around 100". That is a very nice buck for NY. I have killed his twin! Great buck for this area, regardless of score. Congrats.
