So nothing ground breaking just sharing my bow stand mad out of left over pieces of 2x4. I love it saved me putting my bow in the grass when I'm getting my arrows and saves me sticking my arrows in the ground when I'm shooting. The only problem is I made it tall enough to it is really comfortable for me and able to have a recurve hung from it without touching the ground but my 7 year old finds it a bit tall. I also need to add a cup holder (beer holder, shooting is thirsty work) and parts bench to hold allen wrenches etc.
Well done! I like it and may steal your idea. Only thing I may do different it hinge it at the top and put some light chain to expand it so it collapses in the bed of the truck. Otherwise I don't see a reason to change anything. And ya cup holders are a great idea!
I made mine from 2x4s as I had them lying around. I'm building a second one from PVC so I can have one at my current practice range normally around 60-80 yards and another PVC one that is down at the 20 yard mark for my son to practice (may be with out the beer can holder).
Hey coop. What kind of insulation is that if any on the top rail? I want something to protect my bow limbs but I don't like the noodle foam. I want it to hold up against the elements.
That is just pipe insulation I cut open and taped on. It has been outside its entire life and us holding up great. -Mike
I built a pvc one a year ago. I like the paint you guys did on them. I'm goi g to steal that idea so it doesn't stand out in the yard.
Nice, never thought of using wood, might I suggest you add some sort of drop rod to the feet like re-bar held on with u bolts or tubing clamps, so you can anchor it to the ground just in case some critters decide to use is as a scratching post
