I used the axcel sight light for a couple years. Only the brightest setting on it works still. The other two settings do not work at all. Recently replaced it with a Trophy Ridge light and it is working good so far.
My CBE's come with a very good rheostat light that I have used a few times in actual hunting situations. The most recent was a big doe this past December 23rd that came in about 15 minutes before the end of legal shooting time. I did a quick pin brightness test before she was in range and knew it was going to be dim looking through my peep, so I turned on the light to the lowest setting and got ready. When she stepped across my opening at about 26-27, I was ready and fed her a Spitfire. Down in about 75 yards and a nice pre-Christmas gift in the snow.
Check out ZBros' Archery lights.. Bunch of guys use them at my club, though they are fairly expensive and primarily used for 3D. Then again if they are used for that, then they should be fairly rugged.
