I was planning a early September elk hunt when the one guy I had to go with backed out. Now I'm looking for someone to go with. I'm from Michigan and would like to find someone driving out west to hunt with. The state I was going to was Colorado but am open to Idaho or Utah. If anyone is going and would like a partner or just want to split gas and do are own thing I'm down.

If I didn't just buy a house I would be down to go. How long are you thinking about going for?

Dang if I was able to go this year I would totally go with you. Bummer. I'll be going next year again.

I'm 100 percent going next year I have been trying to go for 2 years in a row and just can't get a person to commit. I know there is a elk camp on here and I will attend that for sure next year. I just don't understand why people from the east don't want to hunt elk. My biggest concern is the tag price but I have learned over the years it's not the cost or if you get something it's the experience you have doing it.

I'm going to Colorado from around Aug. 21 till I get an elk or the season ends. So far I'm going by myself as nobody else can take that much time off. Nice to be retired.

That is a tough time to elk hunt unless you know their feeding patterns. I understand why you're doing it and good luck I might go the last week of season.

I am not locked for the 1st I was just planning to go around then originally but now may not go at all depending. It's all dependent on if I can find someone to go with. Every year I plan and everyone is good in march then July hits and nobody can go.

Happens all the time! I just go solo and then the only person I have to worry about is me. And the wife, but she never says No. Wasn't planning on going this year, but she told me on Sunday to go.

My nephew asked me if I would take him before he starts having kids, I'm waiting to hear back from him before I know if I'm going or not.

Being from Michigan it's a little intimidating driving 20+ hours buying a 650 dollar tag and walking up a mountain alone. To hunt a animal I only have book knowledge of
