Hello, i'm from Wisconsin and my friend and i are strongly considering purchasing some land in the UP, mainly for hunting. I'm just wondering any updates on deer numbers, problem with trespassers? It's worth noting most the land we have looked at is near public which there seems to be plenty of. I"m from Wisconsin were wolf numbers seem to be a common complaint are they a problem in the U P also? I do understand the hunting with be more challenging most likely then what i see in central Wisconsin. I'm draw to the U P mainly because we could get more acreage(for less) and we both have young boys and want them to have land to explore. We are looking for 60 to 150 acres. Any information is appreciated thanks!
My in-laws just purchased a cabin up there. But from Chicago it's 8-9 hrs and I've read the deer numbers aren't too good because there isn't much agriculture. If it wasn't so far I'd like to give it a try. I'm thinking about giving them a couple trail cams and have them set up a mineral station to see what's around. Good luck!
