    Most of that land has purchased in the last 10 years or so because the state has been buying up so much land.

    that 200 acre land should be pretty good. Having it split by highway kind of sucks since there will be no direct access from one side to the other. Would probably be better if they had sold it in two pieces.

    If you buy it, I'd gladly volunteer my services to keep an eye on the land for you, and help you hunt it of course.

    Left unimproved it is probably pretty cheap. you can search tax records on surrounding land here.

    I would think it would be a trespassing nightmare buying former land open to public hunting at least for the first few years.

    In some cases maybe. For the 200 acre parcel in question, probably not. There is only about 1000ft on one part, and 400ft of the other where the public could access it in the first place. I would lay odds that any use of this land for hunting or recreation was primarily done by the people who own surrounding land that butts up to it.

    Looks like the state is going to be doubling what it paid for the land in the first place.

    So your fine with them selling it for a profit? Then nobody can use it anymore and the money will be spent on? It doesn't cost them crap to keep it so what's the point?
