I was under whelmed with the ads this year, but was able to pick a couple things out for myself...

What did you pick up for yourself on black fridays sales?

Not much on the hunting front. I picked up a Herter's coveralls from Cabelas. Don't even think they were part of the black Friday sale however, were on discount and free shipping was nice. I might not wear them hunting however, could be something for ice fishing or shoveling show. That will save my other "good" gear.

I also grabbed two Shimano Sahara reels on sale for 49 bucks at BPS. Again, free shipping.

My wish list before next season includes 2 new stands (XOP or LW), another set of steps (likely XOP), and a new or used bow (thinking Halon since everyone seems to love them).

Also thinking about getting the covert cellular cam, looking to see if anyone had any experience with them?

A Wusthoff knife set for the kitchen, and a bunch of ceiling fans and lighting for the house. Not very exciting but that's part of getting old I guess.

I went to Walmart and picked up some scent free soap to rewash the camo and base layers for the late season push.

I missed out on a pre-black Friday deal on a Summit hang-on, because I decided to sleep on it. -_-

There didn't seem to be much hunting. I picked up a new muzzle loader though. Normally like $240 and i got it for $175 shipped to my door.

I'm about to call Covert to see if I can get my second straight one either fixed or repaired... not holding my breath as their customer service has been abysmal since Pat Howard left them. I just had a Black Ops 60 crap out on me last month and they didn't want to replace it... offered me a whopping 30% off the price of a new one. :(

Glad I'm not the only one that noticed the drop off the past year. Few of my older coverts are still going strong while the newer ones crapped out already.

As for my purchases, I bought a pizza pan for half off. I'll now be able to cook my dough evenly. :tu:

I also got a bunch of flooring for half off. Closing on a house within the next week, so the splurging on hunting gear, etc has come to an end.

American legacy has them for $259. But one of the reasons I considered them was there CS. If it is going down hill forget it.
