Lunchtime Discussion Yielded this QB Discussion:

Okay I hate to toss around the term GOAT....honestly in any discussion. Barry Sanders for me is the closest thing to having that in a category but I do give credit to some like Walter and yes despite me not believing it Emmitt can have a case made...okay but anyways the whole Brady GOAT stuff got me and someone else on lunch (he hates the GOAT term too) came up with this QB list (if not agreed upon I list who each of us thought of):

    -Most Accomplished: Tom Brady

-Best "Pure" Pocket Passer: Dan Marino
-Most Physically Gifted QB: Aaron Rodgers
-Biggest Running Threat Ever: Michael Vick
    -Most Prolific Passer: Drew Brees
-Biggest Underachiever Ever: Aaron Rodgers (My pick) Jim Kelly (His Pick)
-Biggest Overachiever Ever: Bradshaw (his pick) Eli Manning (my pick)
    -Smartest QB: Peyton Manning
-Most Entertaining To Watch: Brett Favre
-Best Super Bowl QB Ever: Montana
-Most Overlooked/Forgotten QB: Bart Starr (5 Championship/SB Wins)

I know we had more but can't remember them all and I gotta get back to work now. Have fun discussing

Brady just drives the Packers fans nuts. Suck it up, Brady is the GOAT.

On a side not, only Packers fans add championships. Do you really believe the Cleveland Browns are more of a winning franchise than the New England Patriots?

Overall sure. In Super Bowl era no. Why is that such a hard concept?

And, seriously I hate the term GOAT in ANY discussion or ANY sport really. Just for note I don't even have Aaron as Green Bays greatest QB in my opinion, BART baby!

    Just for the Record Ty,

You believe, overall, that the Cleveland Browns is more of a winning franchise than the New England Patriots?

If I could pick any QB to play under todays rules it would be Marino.

Overall, with their 8 championships (4 AAFC/4 NFL) it would seem the obvious answer is yes of course.

Swamp thought of you last night when they made the comeback. I'll admit Brady made some throws last night that I honestly don't think he was able to do last year. His new diet and regime seems to have done wonders on him.

So football only counted since 1967? I think they kept score back then too.

    The list goes like this.....

    Tom Brady

    Then everyone else behind him.

Brett Favre was good for one thing... throwing interceptions in the playoffs. And texting pictures of his junk to a female reporter.

    Lol!!!!!

Just trying to ruffle some feathers

So if you believe that Bart Starr and Tom Brady are equal with championship wins, you should probably change your own list at the top.

Most if not all, believe Brady cemented the GOAT in history because of his 5th win, but since Starr has already done it and no one involves him in the conversation, do you believe the Russians & Trump have something to do with it? Or is it that Packer mentality clouding your judgement?

OH my word stop being ridiculous. When discussing most accomplished it did come up that Starr had 5 ships/SBs but in our opinion Brady trumps him having done 5 with less HOFs and modern day athletes. We were trying to choose 1.

That though is why we believed Starr is the most overlooked/forgotten QB usually.

You are talking to a guy that seriously believes Aaron Rodgers is the most underachieving QB amongsts the greats. Yeah GB biasness...not.

Also you cannot just use rings to finish discussions IMO...Otherwise that means up until recently Bradshaw had to be the GOAT, sorry nope.

I think you're forgetting Joe M. Yes Montana, Bradshaw & Brady were thrown around quite a bit.

I didn't get to watch all of the QB's in the discussion... From what I've seen, Brady is the GOAT.

It pains me to say this, but yes Brady is the GOAT with a caveat. Bill Belichick is also the greatest coach of all times. Without Bill, Brady would not be in the conversation. Remember Matt Cassel won 11 games with the Patriots in 2008. A quarterback the never started a game in his entire collegiate career. It's kinda like a MJ and Phil Jackson combination, neither would be as successful without the other.
