Anyone here have any little side projects, or work from home projects to generate some rainy day cash for you? I'd like to find something, but am kinda at a loss as to what I could do. Of course anything hunting related would be a bonus.
In the summer I stack bales for the stockyards in town. Winter, I help a local seed dealer treat beans. Spring and fall are too busy for me to have extra time for anything. Find a farmer to help out or cut and stack wood for someone.
We do maple syrup, we had about 700 taps last year, this year we'll have more,but be careful,you'll never stop adding taps once you start
That sounds like a lot of work must be a labor of love. My barber/gunsmith does maple syrup he does not allow anything electric in the sugar shack other than a beer fridge.
We raise and sell katahdin lambs. I would talk to the farmers around there.Theres usually somebody that needs an extra hand around.
I always thought a great business would be selling all your friends and neighbors stuff online for them. Of course start with your own stuff 1st but when you get good at it just photo your friends and neighbors stuff they don't want and put it up on ebay. Once you get going word of mouth should keep you busy forever. Every now and then you'll find a current niche you'll make a loy of money at or sell a big dollar item. Give them one price for you shipping it and another if they ship it. I know I have a ton of stuff I would give someone for pennys on the dollar jeu to get rid of it and get some of my money back for it.
Why not invest in your primary career so that you can make more $$ there and work the same amount of hours?
I feel every person should have some kind of side job of their own they Like to do or are good at. Nothing better than being you own boss. Only down side is your boss is on your arse 24/7/365 My weekend job to earn extra money as a kid now employs myself my wife and a dozen other people full time and about a 100 other people during season.
I've tried several different side gigs... problem is, none pay as well as my primary gig. I've given up and just take on OT at work (perks of being salary plus) when I have an unexpected bill pop up.
Sadly my only side gig now is Small Acre Hunting...and that doesn't make me a dime but takes time Who knows maybe some day. I do work in the Assessing field and hope to become a certified residential appraisor for the State of Indiana....be a side gig I can make as involved or hands off as I want controlling how many gigs I want to take on.
A little of everything. Photography work, graphic design work, and some small building projects (mostly Cornhole boards). I'm already maxed out in my career earnings (aside from step movement and whatever % increase we negotiate each contract. I have Master's, not enough incentive in pubic education to pursue Master's + 30 or a doctorate.
I started a fishing lure company Megachomp Lure Company Pretty easy to do from home and a lot of marketing can be done on Facebook or Ebay. It dose cut into the hunting time a bit though, as a lot of the diehard fishermen are still fishing.
If you are good at anything you can sell then start there. A friend of mine liked to make little custom wooden signs that people hang in their homes. She did it as a hobby for a few years but then started a site on etsy. Over the last few years it's really snowballed.
