I call it looking for something I dropped or lost in the woods, little different concept rather than trying to complete a route I am trying to retrace where I was best attempted after a few beers.

I've done it a couple times. It's pretty fun, though I'd rather be looking for moose sheds :tu:

I really enjoy it! I do it with the boys (8 & 5). They can navigate to it on my phone and help me look. I also did it in Kuwait! No kidding. Geocaches are on post there. I found some of them with some buddies.

It's pretty fun. High-tech treasure hunting!

For almost 16 years...played at it hard when the kids were younger - now not so much. We still enjoy caching while traveling though...a great way to see interesting places you'd never see otherwise.

I just started getting into it... My boy and I went for the first time a couple nights ago and had a blast. I certainly can see it becoming a new hobby for us. I was amazed to learn how many caches were within a fairly close proximity to our home.

As my buddy Greg (Greg/MO) put it. Geocaching: Where you use million dollar satellites to find $1 pieces of Tupperware. :)
    I thought that was hilarious.

My son really enjoyed learning the ins and outs of the GPS and I think its a great way for them to learn some basic navigation skills.

I think it would be a lot of fun and a great way to get your kids out in the woods. I found 2 or 3 of them this year when I was out shed hunting. All of them were on state parks. I looked inside of one of them just to see what was in there, then put it back and tried to hide it alittle better so it wasn't so easy to spot from a long distance.

Looks neat. Would be awesome as a treasure hunt with a group of people.
