...But he has a leather wallet, wears about 15 different pairs of leather boots, has a leather belt, has a cat and some days it's okay to each fish. Anyone know the type? I happen to drinking a Mossy Oak energy drink this morning and he says "Guess that's so you can get amp'd up to go hunting" Whatever dude, rant over.
Our HR Manager is a "Vegan" and it is real annoying, whenever the topic of food is brought up she reminds us of her "Vegan" lifestyle....I think she may be overdoing it a little.
I don't give a crap if people are Vegan, but they shouldn't give a crap if I'm not. Gotta love the classic, "why can't you get your meat at the grocery store like everyone else?" Because my meat lives its life in the wild and free, not stuck in a tiny pen getting fed steroids. Talk about organic? Yeah hunting is as organic as it gets! Ok got it out of me too haha
I work closely with a vegan every day... She respects me enough not to say anything about me eating meat and I respect her enough not to say anything about meat/hunting.
Some vegans are merely people choosing to eat cleanier and healthier...and don't worship or view animals lives like PETA does. I know the 5 months I ate as clean and raw as possible (1 meat meal a week was allowed) I FELT AMAZING...just couldn't keep it up to that degree.
Some ppl are just vegan because they think it's healthier and aren't necessarily animal rights activists/whatever you want to call them. I think Todd Graphs wife is a vegan,he had it as his "fun fact" for a while.
I actually like to try to have civilized conversations with vegetarians and vegans, when possible. A project I worked on a year ago, the guy was vegan based on his beliefs (Indian, Jain)...by the end of the project he understood me better, my passion for hunting, practice, why we should hunt, humanely dispatching an animal, where to aim and even how to prepare the meat. Likewise I learned a bit about his beliefs. Neither of us were antagonistic to each others views and neither of us tried to force our beliefs on each other... There can be good dialog.
I think that's more vegetarian than vegan. I believe vegan is the no animal byproducts whatsoever crowd.
A vegan does not consume any animal byproducts...a leather wallet doesn't break that...but I'd say you're an extremely rare vegan if you wear animals but doesn't eat. Sidenote (not directed at anyone specific) I think it is hilarious how dumb or mean some folks are to any kind of vegetarians (plenty of different kinds) or folks that say are vegans but also eat fish (pecto-something if memory serves is name)....
Ty not mocking but being a vegetarian, or vegan is not natural. It seems to go against nature humans need protein from meat.
Need protein yes, the source of this protein does not HAVE to come from meat though. The biggest thing I ran into was it is a lot of work to if one actually wants to build muscle and not eat meat....without taking like Hemp or Soy protein powder supplements. Beans, nuts and such can easily provide the amount of protein one needs to sustain weight though (at least a healthy weight). Even leafy greens have different amounts of protein. If I lived in a more coastal or tropic type location I have no doubt I'd feel so much better because I'd eat a lot more fish than red meat and more fruits and vegetables no doubt too depending on where.
