Here is video of the peacock that came into the decoys of my Daughter Ally's hunt on Saturday. It was crazy I still can not believe it.

Ally shot her third turkey in 3 years during that hunt. She kept reminding her brother she caught up to him with total turkeys killed all day.

My son Justin extended his streak to 4 years in a row with a long beard this morning and made sure to send a text to my daughter letting her know he was ahead in total turkeys again. He shot this bird while it was mounting the hen decoy.

Let me assure you there was a conversation about her shooting the peacock and she really wanted to shoot it but I kept saying I dont know if it is legal so it was off limits. After talking to my friend Art Helin I asked him to ask his buddy that is a DNR agent and he said it is a good thing she didn't shoot it.

That is the first time in 4 years I did not have my big video camera with me during the youth turkey hunt. With 3 in the blind we didn't think there was enough room. When I saw it I was like WTF I can't believe I dont have my camera.

They're not a native species. So I wonder why it was a problem?

    Lol.
Do any of the neighbors keep them or any idea where it came from? I'd trap it and sell it on fleabay.

Why not shoot the "big turkey?"

Wow! That's gotta go down in a record book of firsts.... Peacock maybe escaped from a farm nearby??? Didn't take him long to find a buddy. Congrats to you and your daughter on an unforgettable hunt!

Tell you what if you live in an area where a close neighbor has peafowl, you would shoot that bird and not feel a bit bad about it. Technically you can shoot the peacock as long as the bird is not on it's owners property.
