Don't know if it's a southern thing or not. But I can say that I've not seen children dressed like that since the last time I at the circus. LOL

I have never seen a child dressed like that around here. The kids tend to wear jeans, boys and girls. Our girls have refused* to wear anything but skirts so they have quite a few denim skirts or jumpers.

*(They don't really have the authority to refuse. But they have begged and pleaded because they want to be like mama who never wears pants unless we're out in the woods. So if they want to be like mama, we'll encourage that.)

What in the world is that, why would you dress your kid like that. I imagine those clown suits aren't cheap either.

I have trouble getting my kids to even wear jeans. They want to wear athletic pants and sweatshirts.

There is some kind of dress code at the school. Sweatpants may be on the no-no list. They wear hoodies though and shorts in the warm weather. But our girls won't wear shorts.

That is crazy, but still cheaper than some of the fancy jeans I have paid for.

I don't get what some people will pay for designer jeans.

A good pair of raw denim jeans will last forever.

I don't wear them myself I am a Levi guy, but like I said between my wife, daughter, and son I have bought a few pairs. They are considerate enough to not tell me how much they actually cost.

I live in Arkansas. We have friends that dress their daughter like that. My wife never tried it with our son and if we ever have a daughter she won't be doing it. Fortunately, she doesn't like that style. My mother-in-law tried to convince us to have my son where one of those for family picutres when he was a toddler. I told her if she put my son in that she would officially be resigning from her role as Grandma; My son is not a clown.

Yes! In Oklahoma they are everywhere. They cost around 100$ a piece. Glad I have a boy.

Those kids look like toddlers. Maybe they don't dress older kids like that. Those kinds of clothes wouldn't work here at all. Our daughters often come home with scratches and/or bruises (nothing serious) and clothes kind of dirtied up from contact with the ground.

They have a version of tag which involves tackling.

I know some folks that dress their kids in outfits like those...course I've lived in the south for nearly 30 yrs.

But I do know people outside the south (Mid Atlantic and Southwest) that dress kids up like that also.

Make no mistake, I'm not a fan.

Don't have any kids and not up on the current trends in my area but I dress myself like that nearly every day. I agree it's atrocious but I like to make an entrance.
