While I may enjoy Trump speaking his mind about the issues and find it refreshing that he basically doesn't have a filter like most politicians do and also that he isn't after money to fund his campaign, I find that it is a big turnoff when he is criticized and he immediately goes into attack mode and like the actions of yesterday in announcing he wouldn't participate because Megyn Kelly would be a debate moderator, that just seems a bit childish, I don't get my way so I am going to take my ball and go home mentality. Attacking her as a 3rd rate journalist and basically threatening her is in my opinion out of bounds. He always fails to look in the mirror and see that some of the fault may be his own. I am disappointed that he can't get over himself as he has succeeded in getting some relevant topics on the table and from the economy I think he could offer/bring some fresh ideas to the table.
I don't see any professional journalists anymore they all have a bias and an agenda. Donald is not innocent either but journalists taking respect just because of where they work is a joke there is no integrity.
I honestly don't get the point of these debates. It makes no sense for members of the same party to tear down other members of the same party. I know that's not the point of these debates, but that's always what they turn into. Trump is a lightning rod, his brash attitude and willingness to speak his mind pisses off the politicians and the media. Personally, it's very refreshing to me. I think it's another way of Trump showing his unwillingness to bow down to the status quo.
I get what you're saying and basically agree with your assessment. My problem with Trump is that he is only gracious when someone is complimentary to him, if you disagree with him or are critical he always goes straight to a personal attack, an argument that is not based upon facts but personally derogatory to the person which disagrees. Hence, "they're just stupid, dumb, etc. etc." While I may agree with his assessment of a lot of the criticism leveled at him he should realize that others may have a point and that he may not be right all of the time.
Trump is running his campaign the same as if he was scripting a reality TV show...Drama drama drama....Unfortunately, it is working. I am waiting for either him or Cruz to challenge the other to a duel any minute now.
Yet the man in the oval office does the same thing, only with a little more tact and nobody seems to blink an eye.
His "my way or the highway" attitude is what makes him a poor choice. Can you even imagine him at the UN, or dealing with any foreign diplomat? Not good. I love that he is not a politician in the true sense, but being a loose cannon is not what we need either. In my opinion, he started out running for president as a publicity stunt and then got carried away with himself when he started getting a lot of attention. He inherited the largest real estate firm in New York and then proceeded to go bankrupt multiple times. He crippled a lot of investment bankers along the way that never did get their money. That's really the kind of track record that bodes well for running the largest economy in the world. That being said; if he gets the Republican nomination, I would certainly rather give him a chance than Socialist Bernie, or criminal Clinton.
You want a job, you go to an interview...you want to be president you go to debates. At this point I'm losing it for him...loved his non-politician approach but this is just childish IMO.
I am sorry but I don't get how even the Liberal Left doesn't see an issue when your two candidates are someone that is a declared Socialist and another that is a federal criminal....mind boggling.
Typically I would agree with you, but this isn't really the job interview. I'm sure he won't skip a presidential debate. This is just a bunch of republicans tearing each others beliefs down. Honestly I find these debates very off putting and unbecoming of both parties. It's one thing to argue with the other party over views on policy, but candidates from the same party should at least consider the damage it does to the party when they attack their own members.
I love the fact that the liberals preach diversity and that they are the party for the poor, and then they push a bunch of very wealthy, old, white politicians down the throats of their constituents. None of which are suited for the task at hand.
Was never a fan of Trump to begin with, but I've lost any respect I had for him now because of this. As president, you can't run away from a situation because someone's being mean to you, you tackle it head on. The other side of this is the left will use this repeatedly against him in attack ads once he's the nominee. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Purely speaking from a strategy to win an election, I think passing on the debate is the right move. The GOP is desperate to get him out at this point being so close to the primaries, and I can guarantee you the entire field and Fox News is planning a way to do just that. This event would have likely been the stage for it. He's not going to get further ahead than he already is no matter how good his performance is, so pulling out of this event and doing a charity event will likely keep him where he is, while the other candidates take shots at each other. Getting to blame it all on Megyn Kelly is just the icing on the cake, but I suspect he would have done this even if she wasn't involved. You gotta give it to the guy, he's smart. I also question his ability to bargain with others at the UN, within Congress, etc......but he has made a hell of a career out of making deals and has proven that he can collaborate with both sides in the past. There are a lot of things I'd like to change with him, but I'm pretty sure he's winning the nomination at this point and there is no way I'd support Hillary or Sanders over him.
I can agree to that. I've always thought the moderator especially in this case isn't there to stump the candidates or zing them...they are there to ensure each gets time. I would love to see each candidate just get 10 or so minutes to share their stances...then a 5 minute a piece after the first wave to respond to anything they've heard (all drawn randomly). I concur though at this level these debates have at times hurt the parties more than helped and honestly are annoying at times to watch.
Call me crazy but I'd be fine with being around Megyn Kelly for a night...she's not hard on the eyes. :D lmao
Isn't a testament about how far things have gone down hill and are still accelerating when Donald Trump seems like a savior and the most logical choice to be President given the current condition of the country.
And that's a fact. I honestly wish there was a better candidate, but he's the only one who stands a chance to defeat those two. I think as president, he would put his foot in his mouth on a daily basis, but that's how he rolls!
He will get my vote. If either of the democrats end up being elected we better be ready to be in for the long haul when it comes to gun control, etc. And if stupid Bloomberg goes in to the race, he may be even worse
