Since we have some posters from Wisconsin and the area, I'm interested in your views on this story. First, if you haven't watched Making a Murderer on Netflix, do so, it is quite an interesting documentary, even if it is heavily biased in one direction. What are you thoughts? Guilty? Innocent? Framed by police? Had something to do with it but did not receive a fair trial?
Documentary? That term has been used fast and loose since that fat tub of dung michael moore started filming. Documentary that term used to mean a fact based unbiased review of facts. They don't make true examples anymore.
Just watched the first couple episodes last night on Netflix and they definitely make it seem like he was framed by the police. Honestly, I think he is guilty. 18 years in a prison will change a person whether they were falsely admitted or not. The animal cruelty and indecent exposure sure don't make him seem to innocent.
A hyped show on netflix. You can't really form an unbiased opinion based on what the films message is either you believe what the program wanted or not.
I do appreciate Gov. Scott Walker's stance on pardons, use the legal system to appeal but there will be no pardons.
So just like the filmmakers it seems you already have your mind made up. I mean...its possible to watch the show, then do a little research online to see what the show mislead or just left out. There is plenty of information online about this case.
I did not watch it yet. But I already have my mind make up. The Guy is guilty. Enough said. I'll watch it here when I get a chance.
Watched the first episode last night... I haven't heard/read anything about this case so I'll make up my mind once I finish the series.
I did this while watching to see what was true and false. Seems like they left a ton of evidence out of the Netflix film
That is why I don't even want to watch it. I've read newspaper articles about it and how it has been made. I work in the pipeline industry. And I've watched documentaries on pipelines. They come across as bullet proof even though they are far from reality. These people can make a documentarily appear to prove anything.
I wouldn't give Moore or anyone associated, the satisfaction or benefit of my interest. If Moore is involved I know it's trash...or worse.
I've watched it and they definitely lead you to the conclusion that he is framed. However, I just have a hard time believing that essentially a whole police department would have it out for this guy and go to those lengths to frame him.
I watched all the episodes and also did some research online for additional information. I think Steve Avery was likely guilty of the murder but it is also seems highly likely the police planted at least some evidence.
I don't think the entire police department was out for him, just a couple of individuals that were involved in his prior false convictions. And I'm in the "he did it, but the police planted some evidence to make sure he was convicted" crowd. I think he did it. The police knew he did it. But they just wanted to make sure that he was 100% convicted. I do think that his nephew got screwed.
The problem with listening to each side is that both sides seem to be giving out just the evidence they deem necessary... neither side is wanting to give out all the information. All I can say is, I wasnt there, so I really cant say whether he is guilty or not... Which ever side is telling the truth though, I wouldnt have a problem beliving it either way. I dont trust either side of the argument.
