1 loss to Ole Miss at home Florida's 1 loss was to LSU at LSU. Notre Dame's 1 loss was to Clemson at Clemson. Those are both better losses than Bama, yet Bama is ranked ahead of both of them. I just don't get it. Every year it seems like Bama can lose a game and it doesn't count because...well I have no idea why.
I would actually somewhat accept that as an answer if they came out and said that...kinda like "there are some teams that we like more based off their historical accomplishments so just suck it" but instead they try to rationalize it with all kinds of contradictions its frustrating as hell
The answer is and always has been to take all human factor out of it from the start. The Champion of each conference gets into a playoff. For a team to finish undefeated and not have a chance at the championship is asinine. Of course nobody agrees with me on this.
To me Bama, ND and Florida I saw as the 3 that would shuffle for the 4th spot....me personally I'd put ND then Florida then Bama...but still games to be played, not gonna get too excited yet about who is in and out.
ND one loss to Clemson on the road? And one play away from winning there. Objectively speaking they get the 4 spot as it stands right now.
I personally think the previous year's champs shouldn't drop if they're undefeated so OSU not being #1 is a bit janky in my opinion. Of course I'm a fanboy and biased too, but I also thought OSU and Michigan should have played in the national championship a few years back when they were #1 and #2 and OSU only won by a FG in Michigan. Now for a team that has a loss at home, yeah, Bama should be in the 8-10 range in my opinion, they almost lost another game too. OSU, Clemson, Baylor, and LSU would be #1 through #4 and in that order with TCU ever so closely behind at #5.
That's because you don't really understand college football. It was decided before the season started that Alabama would be in the playoffs. Had they not lost to Ole MIss, they would be #1, instead of #4. If Michigan State beats Ohio State, the Spartans will move up to #5 and LSU or Notre Dame will move to #4, with Alabama at #3.

LSU will beat Bama this weekend but if LSU loses a close game, shouldn't LSU just switch places with Bama? for some reason I doubt that happens and LSU would fall to like #8
The only improvement is you have the best teams at least playing each other at he end of the season. Rather than basing it on who looks better in a bowl game.
LSU will get them this year and I cant wait!! Going to be a awesome game as always against bama. But yea the poles always stink to me they never make sense.
I don't see Bama beating LSU so it's a moot point... That said, no way in hell would I rank Florida ahead of Bama just by watching both teams. Florida barely beat UK for goodness sake. LOL I'd have ranked ND ahead of Bama though at this point.
Bama has been getting better and I think they will beat LSU. We also had our off week this last weekend so that will help. I was at the Bame and Ole Miss Game, we looked awful. If you look at the stats We should have won, but that is hard to do with 5 turnovers. ROLL TIDE
Pre-BCS simply based it on who looked the best in bowls. The BCS took the "best" two teams to play in the national championship game. I'm sure it will work out by the end of the season, but there will still be team x saying they should be in instead of team y.
Honestly don't see LSU getting beat by 20 points lol If our COACHING allows us to lose again then it wont be by much like always when we play bama. But big #7 I don't see bama stopping his running game.
I think it's going to be a good game. LSU has played well all year and Bama hasn't played like they should. With the off week last week I think it will help get some kinks worked out and give Bama a better chance.(That's what I hope anyway) Bama Started out as a 6.5 point favorite
