Took a little time off for triathlon training. Sorry I have not posted anything in a while but have been following along occasionally.

    What'd I miss.

    Anyone score big yet?

Muzzy, you training for sprints? What do you do to train for the transitions?

Just finished a sprint on 9-11. I was first in the Old Farts Division and 4th overall. My transitions begin by not overusing my legs on the swim and coasting as much as possible during the last 1/2 mile of the bike, even if it slows my time a little.

For swim, I use my pull buoy a lot and concentrate on distance per stroke to increase efficiency. I also swim way more than the race distance. Up to 5 miles is not unusual.

Like everyone, I struggle with jelly legs at the beginning of the run... I am not sure there is any way to prepare for that. LOL

I am hoping to complete a Half-Iron this coming spring... I was about half way there in my training but have been fighting an Achilles injury that won't seem to heal completely. I should have stopped when the pain suddenly started but was determined to finish a half marathon and stupidly pressed until I had to stop... Trying to recover and train at the same time.

I am going to start with an indoor in early January for my first, I hate riding stationary bikes that is going to suck, but laps in a pool is easier than in a lake.
