No, I was there when the Lander supposedly landed and no such thing ever happened. :p I don't know, I've gone back and forth on that issue. When I was a kid the prospect put forth that it was a hoax made me mad and I said that's stupid...no doubt they landed on the moon. As I got older, I thought...Hmm, did they really go or would it have been plausible and easier to just fake it on a "set"? Then as I started thinking more and more about the level (or lack of) technology at the time, I leaned heavily on the side of it being a hoax. I'm still undecided but I can see a pertinent argument from either angle. Considering that we'd only began any rocket program, let alone no space program, just 20 years prior...it's a little rough to swallow that we did get to the moon. Right now, I'd say that I'd need to be able to see the equipment and flag left behind through a telescope to completely believe we were there...I think they still claim that is impossible to see via telescope so....I think it's more likely that it was faked than it happened but I'd not be surprised to find out for certain either possibility was true. The way we're misled and lied to, I'd be more surprised to find out any truth was told than to find out it was fake. The way shuttles were blowing up the last few years of our space program, I'd be surprised if we could go to the moon now let alone back in 69.
Well, the problem is I can do that too, see I placed a reflector on Jupiter when I was there so watch this... *shines a laser at it...a few moments later..."ping", yep there it is.
Seems like they are still going to a lot of trouble to carry out the biggest "lie" of all time. Through 10 different administrations. There are literally hundreds of patents that are directly attributed to the space race and the space program. Things that we now use in every day products.
Well, if it was a hoax...administrations could never reveal it even if they wanted to. You have the Sota's of the nation that would lynch them for revealing the truth because they don't want the truth if it reveals they were lied to. If it was a hoax, that has nothing to do with the patents that came from the space race or the program in general. According to the conspiracy theory, the space race was a real thing, as is the space program...the only part that was a hoax was stepping foot on the moon. There's a very significant difference between earth orbit and going to the moon.
Goodness you have no sense of humor do you, or can't you gather an inference? The doubters fail to see some of the simple signs that would ease their fears. It was a space race between Russia and the US to see who would get to the moon first, don't you think that if there was any way possible that Russia would have pointed out the hoax in order to say that their space program was superior?
I'd like to think I do, however that comment was a little too unambiguous for me to gather that it was meant with any intent of humor. Either way, the point I was making still holds for those that would seriously make that sort of claim. How would Russia disprove the American lunar landing? If there is any merit to the ping experiment, the reflectors could have easily been placed via an unmanned mission to the moon and still serve it's purpose as "proof" that we were there. Russia or anyone else could only disprove it if they went there themselves and failed to find the equipment....but then again, it may be there and was all set up via unmanned mission. I would think if that's the case it would be tricky to plant an american flag though. Still if Russia is unwilling to go to verify, they are basically at the mercy of the American claim and "proof" ping until they go for themselves. I'm surprised they haven't gone and claimed they disproved it either way to be honest but that could be because it's nearly impossible to go in the first place.
I have to wait until the 26th but I was hoping to steer you guys away from arguing and onto deer hunting.
