Well I now am a Sling subscriber and I love it. I got the extra sports package for 5 bucks, so I pay 25 bucks a month for ESPN ESPN2 ESPN3 ESPNU ESPNNews 6 other sports channels and the SEC Network, which will never be on in my house For TV I get AMC A&E FOOD History History 2 TNT HGTV IFC Disney Marker TBS Travel Adult Swim, WTF is that? CNN CN ABC Family Lifetime GoloVision There are other packages for 5.00 bucks a month, but the above is all I really want.
Cmon Germ. Keep up would ya? http://forums.bowhunting.com/water-cooler/70990-cord-cutters-new-legit-option.html
I'm finally going to give this a shot. I just upgraded my internet a month and a half ago with a new company, and I'm getting solid 2.75mbps and streaming is smooth for all apps so far. Unreal how long it took for us to get normal "high speed" internet where we live considering it's really not in the middle of nowhere, buy I digress. Going to give Sling and Hulu a shot. If all goes well, DISH network is going bye forever :D
I have a ROKU 3 I am using and plugging it into my router directly, no wireless. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I have one of the original Roku's and I think it is about 2-3 years old now. It crashes sometimes on Sling tV. But I'm sure that is because mine is old. How is the Roku 3 doing?
Not a problem so far, I also have 50 mb a second Internet. Which helps Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Very interesting...def will be loking into this. more and more lately I have been wanting to "cut the cord" but don't because of the hunting channels and sports...plus the very few shows I actually keep up with. Thanks for the info!
If If hunting shows are important to you (cough) you can get the Pursuit Network for free live on Roku. Just saying.
I had it for a month, but we haven't had cable TV for 4 years, and no one wanted to watch any commercials or wanted to wait for something to come on. I had the kids package and my kids just didn't want to watch it, so I canceled. I wouldn't mind if the ads were more along the lines of HULU ads. Once they start getting more channels, I might get back on, but for now, I'm not touching it. I really think the outdoors channels need to get on this ASAP. Cable companies are analog dinosaurs in a digital age, and if they don't start making changes, they will disappear.
I don't know what it is but we have fast internet too. It hasn't been an internet problem. Darn thing just locks up sometimes and has to re-boot. Ok, getting greedy now, but the B1G network would make it perfect.
I called them about the big ten network, they are in negations to add it. By fall we should have it, I told them they could keep the SUC NETWORK Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I know this is a bow hunting site but I promise you hunting channels are about 50,000 down on the list of priorities for Sling TV and I don't blame them. Sports runs live TV these days. If they could cut a deal with MLB, Fox 1, etc. to complete the sports package they will be unstoppable.
Yep this right here, and the content providers would be fools not to join up Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Ha Ha. Great news if that comes to play. One difficult thing they are going to have to overcome is not get too many channels on the basic service to keep the base price down. The problem is that most channels want to be on the base package (for obvious reasons). Giving the customer options and only paying for what they actually want will be key which is something the Dish and cable companies have failed at.
Let me know how it does for you. I might have to upgrade to a Roku 3 in fall then if you don't have crashing problems.
