After smoking for 10 years and chewing Copenhagen for 10 years after that, I've decided to quit. Today is DAY 1, and I hate everyone and everything. I sure as hell hope tomorrow is better.

If it makes you feel any better, I hate everyone and everything and I don't even smoke.

Hey Ruger I'm like the President of that I Hate Everyone club but probably for different reasons. I quit smoking a few years back, cold turkey and it gets better. Just hang in there..

I dipped Copenhagen for nearly 30 years before I quit. Don't start another habit to compensate for getting off of this one, just walk away. You just need to get to the point where you want to bad enough.

Every day will get a little better and easier than the last. It'll be worth it in the end.

I quit the Cope two years ago. It can be done and it's a personal victory that's as valuable as any set of antlers hanging on the wall.

Good luck, everytime I quit smoking I start dipping, then when I quit dipping I start smoking again. It's been a few years since I tried quitting, I'm trying to get up the willpower to give it another shot. You made a great decision though and I hope you can avoid the temptation.

Thanks for all the encouragement, I will do this. I will hate every minute of it and my wife and kids may have to leave for a few days but I will quit.

It only takes about 3-4 days for your body to completely remove the nicotine from your system. After that the battle is all mental. Still not easy but the majority of the physical side of the addiction is over.

If you want to quit, you'll do it. When I quit I was ready and it really wasn't that bad, but like I said I was ready, I had my mind into it and I quit, unlike all the times before when I wasn't ready. Sounds like you're ready and that's half the battle right there. Hang in there it will eventually get better and you'll be better off. I quit 9 years this July.
