Anybody out coyote hunting yet with all the deer seasons dwindling? Will be our first year actually targeting them. Testing out loads for the new AR as we speak looking for the right combo. Not yet, but I'm planning on it. I'm working on getting my new traps prepared so I can get them out. I hope to knock several out of the herd by trapping in the next month, then I'll hopefully take some with the gun. My brother-in-law just order a FoxPro Krakatoa II, so we should be able to pull them in from the next county over(being sarcastic here, that thing was like $700 bucks) I think my FoxPro Spitfire will work just fine. Love the 25-06. I'm thinking about selling my .270 WSM and replacing it with a Savage 25-06 with accutrigger and a thumb hole stock.
I've been out a few times but planning on hitting it hard once bow season ends on Sunday. I'm sporting a TC .243. Just picked up a FoxPro fusion since I don't have any hunting partners in WI. Mainly used mouth calls when I lived in MI hunting with buddies.

This will be what I am toting this year. TC Venture Predator chambered in .223. It has a Fenix TK22 flashlight on it which has a couple different settings, with the brightest setting being 920 lumens. I can positively identify a coyote to about 200 yards with that. Also will be using the MFK diaphragm calls. Has anyone ever used these before? I just started playing with them and have gotten some sound out of them.
I had mainly cheap primos calls, really any howlers and destress hand calls are fine. If you hunt in extreme cold temps you want open reed to prevent freezing.
There's a joke in there somewhere. My coyote gun is an AR I built. (tho I've only killed two yotes with it so far) I use 50gr Barnes varmint grenades with 25.8grs of IMR 4895. These are light bullets for my 1 in 7 twist barrel but they shoot good.
The elk are being difficult. Lol They are staying miles from the nearest truck/atv accessible trail. That doesn't sound like much but there is 1.5-2 ft of really fine powder snow. It is like trying to climb hills of sand. Going downhill is pretty easy.
