Since I have almost a month until hunting season, my gear is all ready to go and I'm bored at work.. what is the drink of choice for the weekend? For me, if I am cutting lose.. Fireball whisky or Jameson whiskey. I have Jameson regular, 12 Y.O., 18 Y.O., distillery reserve (from both Cork and Dublin distilleries), Gold Reserve, Small Batch Black Barrell and Rare Vintage all in my private collection at home. Still say the Gold Reserve is the abolute best.
I have a home-brewed Imperial IPA which has been carbonating in the keg, at 38 degrees on 10# of CO2 for 6 days. Might be ready to start drinking it this weekend. Otherwise I have a couple other home brews, which have already bottle conditioned, in the fridge.
I have a man weekend at the cabin for cards (sheepshead), beer drinking and bon fires. Cooler full of cold beer sitting in the parking lot outside my work as I type this. I will also be drinking vodka cranberries and brandy old fashions.
I'm gonna try to enjoy the deck and will likely have Belvedere Orange with a splash of Soda Water. If that runs out I will grab my handle of Absolute Mandrin.
For beer I drink bud light but I really enjoy a glass of scotch on the weekend nights. I currently have a bottle of Aberlour 15, Bowmore 12, glenlivet 12 & 15, Glenmorangie 10 year, and my prized bottle...a Glenmorangie 25 year
Captain & Coke for me if I am just hanging out. If I am working in the yard or being active then its Miller Lite all the way.
You're playing Sheepshead and you did not invite me ????? As far as the drinks, water, lemonade, possible a beer or two with a grilled steak on Saturday, not really a big alcohol drinker.
I'll be at the cabin to do some more work on the insulation and walls so I will be on the beer, the cold kind.
I'll be sipping a bit of my favorite drink, junmai daiginjo. But that gets expensive so I'll mostly be sharing my husband's Budweiser.
Those are some good sounding whiskeys. I've got a bottle of honey bushmills, a bottle of Johnny walker, and a bottle of maestro dobel tequila. Throw that tequila on some ice with a little orange juice and pineapple juice. Now that's a good summer drink.
