Is anyone else disappointed that Jesse Ventura won the case? I just heard and I have now lost faith in our justice system.

It's Minnesota, nothing from there really surprises me. :(

What seems weirdest about this case is that it was about defaming his character.
Hmmmf, I think the lawsuit confirms what kind of character he has.

Hard to say.....especially with Kyle being gone and not being able to testify .

If you do some looking around on the web you will find that some SEALS present in the bar would never comment. Some said it didn't happen. Some said it did . Of those that said it did some recanted and some stuck with the kyles

I doubt we will ever know . Its up to the individual to decide which to believe

    Stuff like this frustrates me.

Sounds like he needs more than just being knocked out... For those words to come out of an American's mouth to a unit that service this country with the sacrifice of their life, Chris had every right to knock some sense into Ventura.

Ventura should be put on the front line and be the one to "lose a couple".

He had every right to sue if it weren't true. What is ironic is that he was suing for defamation, but I'm not quite sure winning this lawsuit will help his image.

He doesn't care about his image... He is rule book "smart" and knew the best way to win the $1.8m he was asking for.

Yea I'm pretty sure this lawsuit is gonna be far worse to Ventura's repetition than get his butt kicked in a bar fight. You would think someone who himself served wouldn't even make the comments that started the whole altercation.

Chris Kyle was an American sniper and ironically wrote the book American sniper. He is currently the deadliest sniper in American history with the most confirmed kills.

Before he was murdered stateside he was in a navy bar getting together with others over the loss of a fellow seal. Jesse was there too for the same reason with a different party.

The story as Chris wrote it in his book says that Jesse was bad mouthing seals and saying things like "the seals deserve to lose a few". Chris said he warned Jesse that he shouldn't say things in a seal bar in texas.

Apparantly Jesse didn't take the hint and kept going so Chris punched him knocking him over. This all happened before Chris wrote his book and he put this story in his book, leaving jesses name out and calling the man something like scrufface in the book.

Later on in a interview about the book Chris let it slip that the man in his book was Jesse. Jesse then filed a suit against Chris for "lying" about the story saying it never took place and that Chris brought down jesses name because of it, causing jesses income to drop.

Meanwhile Chris was killed at a shooting program for returning vets by a former military guy who wasn't mental stable and was not supposed to be there. Jesse then moved his suit to Chris's wife

*i believe this is the story correct me if I'm wrong

I don't see the irony in an American sniper writing a book named American sniper?

The odd thing is that I believe Ventura was a seal. Who would say that about his own brothers?

After more research it appears he was an underwater demo specialist.

Also in the note of moving it to his wife. Jesse justified it by saying he was suing the insurance company and not Chris wife.

Just about sums it's up ha.

I think the the guy that shot Chris and Chad was taking to the range by them to try and help him out. Think he, Chris, actually did that alot with vets that were injured or have PTSD.

I'm pretty sure Jesse Ventura defamed his own character more than anyone else could over the last several years. If he'll take this money then go to his corner and shut up then it's worth letting him win.

Interesting to see what Jesse does with the money...he could earn some of his character back based on what he does.

I'm not a Jesse fan, but for those ripping him, IF Kyle was lying, wouldn't you be really PO'd too having been a former seal and having that written about you? I'd probably do the same thing Jesse did.....IF Kyle was lying.

I had just finished reading the book as this case was going on. Simply horse **** if you ask my opinion...

Why would he lie about it?

On the other hand he never said his name either??

In an interview he did. I wouldn't doubt that it gave him media exposure and fame which caused sales of his books to rise, hence the reason why some of that payout is for profiting off of defamation.

Why would he lie? People lie about many things. Ridiculous things. I don't know if you're on AT but a guy was straight up lying that he was killing big bucks and posting up pictures. Why? No idea he was a nobody and I guess he wanted fame.
