My lifelong dream has finally become a reality. Been looking for some time for some property for a deer camp, and this past fall this camp came up for sale. 55 acres that borders state land, and farm land that I can hunt, it's over a 1/2 mile of a deeded right of way off the dirt road to get back to where the camp propertry starts. And it's only 15 minutes from my house. Made an offer the end of October and the sellers accepted. Lawyers took forever it seemed like. Didn't have the closing until February. It's 24x24, off the grid but all wired for a generator. even has gas lights all piped in. Here's the google earth image of the property line. Here's the outside of Deer camp. My first priorty was to get the island/bar set up..lol.. Built a base with cabinets and drawers and ordered a 8 and 1/2 by 5 and 1/2 foot slab of granite for the top. Only took 4 of us to install it. Not bad for weighing 1200 lbs. Got 10 barstools for it, got the flatscreen TV and satelite all hooked up too. Spent 4 days falling trees and blocking them up and stacking them in order to make for a bigger parking area. As soon as spring is here and the snow is gone and it dries up a bit, will be putting an addition on the back of the camp for a bunk room, putting a pond in and also doing some work on the ROW and parking area. Best part is - the farm this adjoins is where I take a lot of my trail cam pics and pics with my Nikon. All these pics came from this adjoining property. actually this first one is 50 yards from the camps back door... Looking forward to a lot of good times with family and friends here at camp. I'll keep you all updated as we move forward with our construction of the pond and addition in the spring. Food plots will have to wait till next year... Can't wait to see what made it thru this past season. New pics to follow... Dave

So cool (and super jealous). Looking forward to the updates. When does the swing firepit go in? Sent from my Samsung Galaxy S4.
That looks sweet man, very awesome cabin! That's exactly what I hope to upgrade to within the next 10 years! Nice looking deer and firewood too, both major bonuses.
That right there is the American Dream in my eyes. Congrats on finally getting the special place and ensuring it had all the man stuff to boot!
