Since gun season has started and will be starting for most of us, let's see your gun kills! All types of guns allowed ... Bow kills NOT ALLOWED :D For me, my gun season starts One week from tomorrow ...stay tuned ... those of you that have already killed with a gun, post your pic!
The first gun season comes in this Fri/Sat/Sun for Illinois. I'm putting in a lot of time tonight and the next few days to try and get one last push at a good buck with my bow. I'll only get to hunt Friday and Saturday nights for the first season due to my work schedule.
Awesome! We start Saturday. I'm going to miss the o'dark 30 sit but husband will get out and we got a babysitter for the afternoon. This has been my first season bowhunting and I am contemplating taking the bow with me. 50 yards is probably my limit with a gun anyway. I have had a hugely successful season so far. I've seen a lot of deer for the first time including a spike that I probably could have had a shot on. I'm dreading the noise of opening day. I have really enjoyed the quiet of bowhunting.
Shot this guy last Monday lost blood after 80 yards. Searched for 2 days, walked past him probably 3 times as he was in head high briers. I have a cape from last years buck that I'll use on him.
This one was from the Oklahoma black powder season. Sorry for the lack of more tasteful photos, I was by myself and it hit 80 that day so I was trying to get him de-boned.
This was my number #1 target for the year. The first deer I have shot with a rifle in 14 years. I hunted this guy hard for approx 45 days and I couldn't get it done with the bow and my hunting time is about to get reduced drastically so I took advantage of rifle season.
