So I'm sure most of you know who the Duggars are. How do you feel about it? Is it fine that they have 19 kids? Or in an overpopulated world is it wrong? Should two people command so many resources because they want 19 kids? BTW, the recently had a miscarriage with their 20th. Clearly they are not breaking any law. How about morally?
If they can support them, go for it. I'd rather see them with 25 kids, than some folks I know with one.
My grandmother had 19 kids as well as a still born and a miscarage. No twins either. She probably shouldn't have due to the fact they struggled but it doesn't appear this family is struggling. It is America but I understand it when some say they shouldn't.
It's their way of life, but i wouldn't be shocked if one of the kids tell their parents.. What was okay for you isn't okay to me.
Command so many resources? They look to be a well off family. i had a great upbringing but these 19 seem to have even more than I did growing up. So long as they are self supporting I see no problem with it. Some people are fit to be parents, others aren't. the number of kids doesn't change that.
The argument you hear out there is that so many people require them consume a great amount of things. I.e. more garbage, more food, more water, more everything. That the earth already has too many people already and we don't need families having so many kids in the 21st century. If you Google it there are many people that believe they are very selfish for having so many kids. Sent from my SCH-I500 using Tapatalk
My grandmother will tell you the good old days are now. She is one of 13 herself. She is 86 and gets around better than most of her kids. I love being from a large family. When my grandad passed away. There we're 49 grandchildren and 51 great grandchildren. Many more now. She suffered alot raising her children but this family looks to be doing pretty well. I have heard her kids say it was a mistake for them to have that many children.(financial reasons) but I do believe they all love being from a large family.NOW
Never heard of them. I couldn't care less about what they are doing or how they are living. Who am I to say if what they are doing is right or wrong? It's none of my business.
Well they do have their own tv series on the history channel (or something like that) they live a pretty public lifestyle and make a lot of money on it. If that changes anything. Sent from my SCH-I500 using Tapatalk Sent from my SCH-I500 using Tapatalk
Precisely. Thier story is better than the one below. (Disclaimer: some of the comments below the video are horrible. Race has nothing to do with this.)
Probably not a popular answer, but to me, having that many kids is wrong. There are too many people in the world as is, why contribute to the problem.
This actually is a very popular answer. There are many many critics of the Duggars. Like I said, just do a Google search and people have done videos and blogs all over the place about them in a negative fashion. I'm actually surprised you are the first person on here to take this position. But let's face it. The people on BHC don't represent the general populous opinion on most things. FTR, I see both sides of the argument as being valid.
I'd say they're doing a lot to keep the economy going. Probably more than Obama has. LOL My dad had a cousin who had 23 children. They were Canucks who lived in Hull... or maybe it was Quebec but I think Hull. 2 of her children died at birth. She went through 4 husbands. They kept dying on her. The old gal outlived several of her children.
I had to re-read the poster's name 5 times before I believed you would post this .... I am speechless ...
My only concern would be the difficulty in giving each child the individual love, time, etc., that they deserve.
