So I've been shooting my mathews switchback since I got it in 2006. I love this bow, it is a tack driver and has never let me down yet. But here lately I've been thinking about getting a newer bow, and make the switchback my backup bow. I really like the looks of the z7 extreme. Is it worth the extra expense to upgrade to the z7. You outta go shoot and then decide. I've shot the creed xs and it wasn't for me. my uncle has a switchback and I like it alot. I keep reminding him I got first dibs if he buys new bow. I've never shot a z7 though
Yea I need to find them and shoot them, but that maybe difficult to do. Sent from my SM-N910V using Tapatalk
It isn't that much of a extra expense I got my z7extreme fully loaded for 600 but I'm upgrading to a HTX
I have a Z7 and love the bow, I was also thinking of getting a new Bow this season, but decided to stay with my Z7 it is a great shooting bow.
i'm still shooting a "2007" Bowtech. It launches a 401 gr. arrow @ 265 fps. I don't think 20 or 30 more fps is worth $1000.00
Cant speak for the Matthews, but I recently upgraded from my old Hoyt (a 2007/8 model) and you'll be delighted by the improvements in the technology in the newer bows. Is it worth it? Yes, I believe it is.
Not being a Mathews fan the switch back was of the nicer bows they made, that said I think the in the 10 years bows have really improved a bit. Yes I think an upgrade is worth it
is it worth spending more money to replace a bow that works? financially, no because we love buying new hunting stuff, yea, sure
i have a switchy too. couple years ago i had the same thought and purchased a new heli. well... two years later i sold my helim. imo its not worth it unless you are buying a target bow,or speed bow at low pounds.
The switchback is an awesome bow. So is the Z7. The Z7 Extreme isn't quite up to par with the standard Z7 IMO but that is all up for debate. Those two bows are widely regarded as the best that Mathews have ever built so your probably doing pretty good either way. For me I would shoot the Switchback until you could afford and find a brand new bow you are happy with. Sounds like you get your money's worth out of a bow so why not have warranty and everything.
