I have a target release from Carter, I didn't like the stock spring on the release.. I tried a buddy's 125# spring I do believe and I loved it. So I ended up ordering a new spring kit for my release. I have heard that when using heavier springs you need a heavier cocking spring.. Is this true? I know people that run two springs sometimes use this but when would it be necessary to switch? I'll either be using the 125# or the spring below it most likely.

That's what I was thinking I'd have too do. I actually talked to him yesterday and ordered something but totally forgot to ask him that question.

I ended up talking to a Carter dealer, he said as long as it's any spring in the ITS kit it's okay, any more than the single spring it in or a custom lbs spring then it's a heavier cocking spring. Well at least I know now

Good to know in case I ever jump up to the heavier spring. I didn't like the stock spring in mine for hunting so I swapped it out for the 65# spring and it's great. It made a world of difference, but I'll be honest I didn't even try the 125# spring when playing around with what i liked best.
