Hey guys, I've decided to upgrade my '06 Bowtech Tribute that I have really ever just messed around with and shot at targets but have decided to really take bow hunting serious this upcoming year and need to upgrade it to make it hunting ready. Besides a new string a cables, what is the most important thing to upgrade? I know the bow is a little on the old side but that is not in the budget for now and really it is like new condition other than the string needs to be replaced since it never has been. Any advice is much appreciated.
A good set of custom strings goes a long ways. After that, I think a good quality rest is the next important (I like the Trophy Taker smackdown pro FC but qad, vapor trail, nap, and code red are some other good ones), Next a good sight. Depending on your preference a good single pin or multi pin with micro adjust is very beneficial. Also a good release is often over looked.
Agreed, just take your current bow and update it with quality strings and sight and rest then practice. I put new strings and sight on my 2007 Ross last year and killed my biggest buck I may ever see in the woods(knock on wood) nothing wrong with older bows that technology got us where we're at and sometimes the simpler the better

Not a giant fan of vapor trail, I use 60x personally and the shop I work at deals through winners choice and they're great too. Hutch who is a member here makes the bow string depot strings and they're awesome tons of guys on here use them
I use Bow String Depot strings on my bows. Been very pleased with the quality and workmanship of them. Any color combination you can think of. As stated above, a good rest and sight will benefit you as well. I, too, am a fan of the TT Smackdown rest. Black Gold makes awesome sights. Shop around and find what meets your needs.
I use BSD strings. I'll be buying another set this spring. Good strings and Hutch is amazing to work with.
I've been shooting BSD strings for going on 4 years now. Best I've used, easy to work with as well. New strings will make a big difference. Sent from my SM-S820L
