I'm looking to get more speed out of my bow for turkey season and 3d shoots this summer. I'm currently using Easton FMJ but they are quite heavy. My bow specs are in my sig. Just wondering what arrow everyone recommends for speed.

You could drop down to the Axis range at about 9.5gpi which would gain you about 16fps,
Going lighter yet like the Easton Bloodline or Victory VForce 8.7gpi would gain you about 23fps,
going even lighter yet like the Victory VAP 7.8gpi would get about 31fps.

of them I only shoot the Vforce which I do like.

Good news is about any arrow will be faster than a FMJ! I have shot well with the Maxima Red which I switched to about 2 months ago. They are at 9.07 gpi.

Haha yeah I bought them because I switched to mechanicals and wanted a heavy arrow for penetration. I'll still use them for deer.

I'd check out either Easton Bloodlines or the Hexx. The Hexx are 7.2gpi and also have a high straightness tolerance of .001

I've always want to try out GT. I've only heard good things about them so I'll check out their velocity line. I've always been an Easton guy, but not for any particular reason besides that's what has always been the most popular in stores. Has anybody used Easton's Flatlines?

Yea those would probably be my choice with a heavier tip weight to use for 3d target shooting. I wouldn't use them for hunting as I like my hunting arrows to be in the 8.5-9gpi range

I apologize elkguide if my question about archery equipment on Tech Talk forum caused you so much anguish that you felt the need to insult me in my thread. I'm sorry that I don't have the same level of knowledge that you do from your years of guiding elk hunts in Vermont. Were all 1,579 posts as helpful as the one you blessed me with?

Shot Flatlines in the past. Good accurate arrow. I do not think they were as durable as the Gold Tips. I am shooting Gold Tip XT Hunter in black. My son is shooting Gold Tip XT Velocity in black.

Good to know. I'd prefer a durable arrow especially for turkey hunting as I tend to shoot a lot of arrows into the ground and not into turkeys. I have durability issues with my FMJ too. The nock tends to get looser and looser on several of my arrows to the point that they don't stay in the arrow. Maybe its time to try GT.

I ended up going with the Easton Da' Torches. I wanted to go with the Hexx but the shop had these in stock. The specs seem pretty similar. I don't care for the dumb name, though. Hoping to test them out in the next couple days.

Anybody have any insight on the da torches?

Yeah, I looked at those but ended up going with the da' torches because that's what the shop had in stock. They seem to just be Waddel branded Hexx's judging by the specs. Know anything about em'?
