I bought a scent purge 50 and have it installed in a large air tight bin. Should these make a noise at all? I see a green light indicating power BUT I have no idea if it is actually producing ozone.. any way to test this? Anyone have one of these? Thanks, Tom
yep. we have the scentcrusher car one and a screntcrusher duffel you can most definitely smell it, and I honestly believe it works I had a different brand previously and returned it because it worked so slow, that it took forever to fill my car whereas the screntcruser, plug that thing in 5 minutes later my entire car had lost its funk smell
I don't have that model of ozone generator, but mine does make a whirring noise and you can DEFINITELY smell ozone soon after it starts running. It is a very recognizable smell. BTW it is not healthy to breathe ozone so try to minimize how much you inhale. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
you should def smell it like others have said kinda fresh rain smell. you should keep anything rubber or elastic to very short periods of ozone. like 10 min tops. ozone is hard on rubber elastic and even plastic.

Who all uses the scent crusher bag on here I just got one and I believe it works but either I am having a off day or it actually making my lungs feel wired

It's not healthy to breather ozone and that's what scares me about the one that goes in your truck. I've almost pulled the trigger on one of those but it seems like the most dangerous ozone product to definitely be breathing it. To me the one in the truck is the most effective but potentially the most dangerous. I hope I'm missing something here because I'd like to have one. I have one set of warm weather hunting clothes and one set of cold. When tax season is over 10/15 I hunt a lot. I can't really wash them after every single hunt nor do I want to wash the permethrine out too soon. I've yet to get close to cold weather gear this season. The bag is probably not for me. It's highly unlikely I'll change clothes after parking.
I had this same model several years ago. It was ok for a very small area but it didn't last me very long before it stopped working. I've gone through a couple different upgrades since then and am now using an industrial-type model. It works very well and noticeably better than the smaller versions particularly if you are using this for a hunting room full of clothes. If you upgrade to anything larger I would definitely listen to all of the warnings on rubber and respiratory issues. Last year I had the elastic band on a new pair of base layers lose its elasticity and was not very happy. It was my own fault since this new unit is very strong and I simply left it on too long and too often. I've also accidentally spent too much time in my hunting room after this thing has been running even for a very short amount of time and it left me coughing pretty bad for about 15 minutes. Total time in the 10x12 room was maybe 5 minutes max. In your case for the size that you are using and being in a large enclosed bin I don't think you'd have much concern over the respiratory issue since your exposure is minimized but the deterioration of elastic might be a concern if it's left running for too long. I would never use any unit in my truck, although I've wanted to. With all of the plastic and rubber in vehicles it's not worth the risk of permanently damaging something in an expensive vehicle which seems likely. I use two of the Arm & Hammer fridge and freezer baking soda boxes in my vehicle as well as my plastic hunting bins and they work great.
