Anyone have a preference? Pros and cons? Experiences? I'm considering switching from my Muzzys to the Killzone and trying to get some info. Thanks guys
I shot the spitfire maxx with the same COC tip thats on the killzone. I never had an issue with them, and I definately busted through some bone with them. With that said, since the killzone's offer the trophy tip I went with them. I not real worried about penetration with my setup and I wanted something that could with stand a shoulder hit a little better if it were to happen. I've killed with both and honestly they both performed great. I would go trophy tip if your ke numbers are high and you have a heavier arrow.
I actually have a pack of both. Ive only shot one deer and that was with the COC tip but im sure ill use the trophy tip sometime and it will do a great job as well.
I have the cut on contact and my dad smoked a deer on mon. and she didnt go 20 yards!!! Blood was crazy and the entry and exit hole was devistating!! All i have to say is any killzone coc or trophy tip you will be makeing a very good decision!:D
i bought the trophy tips. one fawn i shot head on in the chest standing on the ground and dropped her in her tracks my 28 inch arrow was all the way through the rear end and that was after hitting the sternum and one hip at 42 yards. doe i shot the other day from the tree at 32 yrds double loung full pass couldnt find my arrow, but the doe was dead in 20 yards she passed over a creek after she was shot and the blood was on top of the water. id never seen so much blood
Ive got deep six inserts in my FMJ's and the only tip available for the deep six killzones is the COC tip. I'm pretty impressed with them so far. I was nervous at first about the COC tip on bone, but since then I've shot 2 does with them and the first one i passed all the way through her off shoulder blade at 14 yards. These heads are devastating! I like the blood trails i get with my spitfire maxx better, but when the deer dies in sight of the tree with the killzone, a blood trail doesnt matter. Not that the blood trail was terrible on the killzones, its very good, i just prefer the blood trails ive seen with my spitfires.
I have been considering switching to the NAP Killzone myself for some time, I like the design and have been using rages for a couple years now so it wont be too much of a change for me. I like NAP as a company much more than Rage so I would rather give them my business. Are the COC tips replaceable if they get broken?
I have been shooting them for several years & have been very impressed. Not sure on replacing the tips. I usually don't re-use a broadhead after I shoot a deer. Part of the reason I like them is I can find them for $25 in the off season. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I have never used the COC Killzones but have been shooting the Trophy Tip Killzones. I personally think the tips are a way to sell a product. I'm shooting 70 lbs and I have no issue punching through a deer's shoulder or rib cage. I shot a mature doe earlier this season head on and drove the arrow through the sternum and cut the heart almost in half. You hit a deer right any broadhead will do the job. Having said that a 2" diameter is pretty reassuring and devastating.
I called new archery products on this just a few weeks ago. Chris told me to always use the trophy tip it is the best tip they make on any broadhead. I shot a buck last weekend on public land and here is what it did to him Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
