Used. Or trades. I've done plenty of trading to get nice setups

Scheels really does not trade such things. I could raid the Tribute though and buy replacement parts latter for the boy.

Don't rush it, you have quite a bit of time before next season. Keep an eye on lightly used items for sale on forums? I find good deals all the time!

Just keep an eye out on CL, eBay and pretty much any archery sight. People are selling lightly used stuff ALL the time at considerable discounts off new. Just transfer your stuff off your tribute to get it setup enough to shoot for now then upgrade as you go and find what you want. There's no law stating you have trick it out immediately. It will shoot and kill deer without a bunch of fancy accessories.

With 2016 here a lot of places reduce price on the 2015 products. I'll settle for a brand new in the package cheaper 2015 product than a latest technology 2016 product. Also I like to add stuff in my Amazon wishlist and watch as prices slowly drop. Patience is the hard part. But I'm a hunter, patience is what we do!

Pastor Scotty, you don't have to buy high end components to build great bow. That said, your rest is probably the most critical component other than the bow itself. NAP, QAD, Ripcord, Trophy Ridge, and many other companies make reasonably priced rest that will perform very well. Take your time and talk with other shooters to see what's out there then decide what works best for you.

Buy used. Join "archery buy sell and trade" on Facebook. I've bought qad hdx rests for 50-60 bucks on there. I also bought a spyder turbo about a year ago with a qad hdx and custom strings for 475. You can find some deals. Another good place is archery talk classified.
