I have a BR33 coming in and I'm thinking of trying a few different sights and for sure a new rest.

My QAD has failed twice in three years, and while I know QAD will replace it.
When that happens I loose confidence in a product. They seem to work great for lots of people and I could have gotten 2 bad eggs.
    What's out there that's working?
I may just go back to the ever consistent WB.

As far as sights I'm looking at the I.Q. sights, anyone try them? Did you like them or find them too busy?

Really like the idea of the G5 optic xr2.
    One fixed, one floater.
    Any issues with these?

Not really a single pin guy as the deer seem to always come out when I'm either eating, drinking or relieving.

HHA has a new sight with more than one pin, I am an HHA guy. I also had a trophy ridge react sight but I thought it was really heavy

I have had the original TR React and the TR React pro love both but the upgrades to the pro make it a better product. Just what I like I know some ppl don't. Have heard good things on HHA and SpotHogg

    Wasn't a hha, was a QAD.
First one the launcher would drop about halfway and then slow fall the rest of the way.
Second one the left /right doesn't lock down tight.
Even after I snug it pretty good I can push it with my thumb.

My cousin swears by his IQ sights- won't shoot anything but. He's a deer slaying machine too; so something's working for him.
He also shoots a Strothers (and a Mathews Monster Chill.)

Trophy taker Smackdown pro rest. I've had this rest in the past and have a few buddies that still use and swear by these.
I.Q. Bowsights are great sights, don't get me wrong, especially for target shooting. But won't use these for a hunting setup, just not sturdy enough in my opinion.
    Best of luck.

A guy I know ended up putting his IQ back in the box and on the shelf in the garage after a year because he just didn't like it. Said he had to many issues trying to get the dot just right. I use an HHA single pin and love it. I also know several guys that like their spothogg as well.

As far as the QAD rest goes I have never had any issues and mine is probably 5 or 6 years old.

If you're looking for a new rest and like the concept of the QAD look into a Bowfinger Medusa Max. Handmade and engineered in TN. The internals and all the mechanisms are way more robust than the QAD. What I really like about it over the QAD is the timing cord. QAD has it's own size cord that threads into a hole.

On the Medusa Max you just tie your cord in about 3" below the rest and time it on the rest from there. The cord is adjustable on the rest and you can just set it to come up in that last inch of draw without having to press and repress to adjust in your down cable.

THey are dead silent and no bounce back after the shot. I believe on their website there's a slow mo video.

Bowfinger has a HUGE following on their stabs and especially their stab mounts. They would take all the QAD share in rests if he advertised.

I live in TN but have no affiliation. LOL! He's on the other end of the state from me. Last summer I tried a NAP apache, Smackdown pro and two QADs and really wanted to like the QAD. One of them failed and was defective and they sent me another and I didn't like the timing. The pro shop I frequent is in KY and the local 3D I go to suggested this rest and I've been a happy camper every since.

I do not believe you can find a better sight manufacturer than Axcel. I have used Armortechs for many years. Flawless micro adjustment and all stainless steel screws / hardware. They still look new year after year.

I never had a problem with a QAD Ultra-rest. But, if I did like you I wouldn't continue to use them either. For hunting, nothing beats the simplicity and reliability of a Whisker Biscuit.

Yep that's about where I'm at, so many of these things are great on paper. But fall short in execution.
I'd go straight up WB, but I get better results shooting a soft 3"in vane.
I'll have to look at the Medusa.
    Any experience with AAE rests?

Another cool thing about the Medusa is it's $30 or so cheaper than a QAD.

Thanks for the tips, think I'll go limb driven on the rest.
Either the proV, hamske hybrid hunter or the aae pro drop.

Sounds like your rest wasn't set up right as far as when it stands up to its max that can cause them to brake if not set up right I've shot qad for almost ten years never had a issue with mine

    So far I'm digging it.
    It's a breath of fresh air after 2 30"ATA bows @ 29 1/2" draw.
I may need to bump up to a 300 spine. Now that I'm pulling 65+lbs or I may just turn it down. Depends on what groups better.
May go back to FMJ'S just because their easier to pull from targets than the Axis.
Haven't gotten it fully set yet.
Took a little longer to get because Bear sent an Escape in a BR33 box, lol

The shop just swapped out the QAD for me, so I'll give it one more shot.
If I don't feel confident in it after a couple 3D shoots I'll either try a vapor trail pro V or just go caveman simple with the biscuit.
As far as the sight I'm going to go with an Axcel Armortech 4 or 5 pin.
Played with one and really like the quality of it.
Seen one here on the classifieds, just waiting for a guy to send some money on the Atomic he wants to buy.
As far as a quiver I'm not going to mount one, I'll just use my old one as I just put it in a bag anyhow.
I honestly don't think I'll pick up another 30" bow again.

I was skeptical at first but Bear makes as good of a bow as anyone.

But I'm more excited that my son will be in the stand with me this year with his new G-2 Cruzer trying to get his first bow deer.

Awesome! I have almost a 2 yrs old and hope he wishes to go with me one day. I have a motive 6 I like it. Then I was looking at the 33's and went to the local shop after looking at them at one of the big box stores. But they where out so I almost went back to the place I saw them but saw a bear venue. Asked what they wanted for it and shot me a price to good to pass up about 55% off retail. So that's what I got. Still have the itch for the 33 though. Glad you like it
