Ok, I'm thinking of going to a hand held 4 finger release. I now use a Truglo Boa wrist release. Are hand held releases better and which would you recommend? Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
I started using a TruFire Hardcore 4 at the end of last year. I've gotten pretty comfortable with it and like not having a release wrapped around my wrist and getting in the way.
I was just looking at those online, fairly reasonable to. Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
I went from the the same release you have to a Stan Sx2 a year ago. Found that my anchor and shot release was more consistent with the Stan. I tried pulling my bow back the other day with a wrist release and found it was more difficult to draw back than with the handheld. It does take some time to get use to the new release though. For me, there's only one downside to a handheld release for hunting.... they're metal and depending on where you hunt, darn cold! Up in VT, we get a broad range to temperature. I wind up keeping the release in my pocket and plan extra time getting ready for a shot. I'm a STAN guy. If your looking for a 4 finger, try a STAN Just X or Perfex! It fits nicely in your hand with very little bulk or slip when the temp dips. By far the best release I've ever shot.
I keep my release in a hand warmer around my waist to keep it warm until I need it. The Stan does get cold when the temperature drops, that is for sure. Sent from my SM-N920V using Tapatalk

I picked out the Stan JustX 4L this year. Love it. Talk to Lancaster archery if you want to try a few out. They helped me.
