I've read that drop away rests have the potential to affect cam timing on dual and binary cam bows. The claim was made by pro-limb driven rest writers. I find it hard to believe. If it were true then nobody would be able to sell a cable actuated rest. Has anybody here actually experienced any rest induced timing issues that needed to be corrected by cable twisting or is it only applicable to unicorn and Sasquatch hunting? I'm currently using a cable driven rest on my single cam bow but am considering what to put on my new bow when I get it. It's down to the Limbdriver Pro V and the QAD Elite HDX.
I have used QAD HDX rests on my last 3 Bowtech bows, my Hoyt Faktor, and now my current Elite. No issues.
The limb driver pro v would be my choice. When it comes to timing limb driven rest are easy install Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
The only way it can affect cam synchronization is if the rests linkage is to short. The linkage will pull on the cable it is attached to forward, rotating that cam a litte out of position (timing). This can also cause lateral cable torque and cause some bad arrow flight. Twisting the cables would not help in this instace, but rather a proper length rest cord linkage is the simple fix. The Limb Driver Pro V is my favorite drop away, although I am not currently using one.
What I'm hearing so far is that if a cable actuated rest is causing timing issues, it's installed wrong.
