Hey y'all a buddy of mine got a brand new BT-X this year and spent a lot of time getting used to the new bow. We were shooting a couple nights ago and he pulled back and all we herd was a crank/snap type of noise. At this point he was in full draw and kinda froze. Just wondering if other people have seen anything like this? First time for me seeing something like this.
Get the bow back to the shop it was purchased it is called delamination, do not shoot the bow until the limbs are replaced.
Yep Bow Tech famous limb failures, go to YouTube and punch in Bow Tech limb Failures!! Horrible that is why I will never own a Bow Tech!!
I would back the poundage off. Were safety glasses and leather gloves. Sad to see your bow that way. BUT you are not the only one. Bow Tech has had those issue for nearly 10 years now. It appears they are not interested in solving it until someone get seriously hurt or killed.
You'd have to be nuts to buy a bowtech. And anyone that says all companies limbs fail is off their freaking rocker. Bowtechs fail at a terrible rate compared other high end companies.
I've never see anything like it before! All I gotta say is I'm glad I've shot Hoyt for my whole life so far! Thanks for the info guys
Here we go again. When is this company going to do something about this issue? Bowtech has been having issues for years and years.
Happened to a buddy of mine at a 3d shoot last spring i believe it was a destroyer or an rpm i forget but almost same thing, as soon as he got to full draw sounded like a tree snapped in half. He's a glutton for punishment he bought a prodigy after that.....silly bowtech fans
On AT I've seen several treads where the limbs have blown up on the btx. There are some definite issues with the limbs on this bow. I Read 2 different stories where the owners had the limbs fail twice since they have owned the bow! I used to love bowtech. I'll probably won't own one again. There's no getting the money back so gonna ride it out. I've put a couple hundred arrows through mine. Longs it holds up it shoots nice
Wow glad I didn't buy another bow tech and also glad I quickly sold my other one. Bow tech has known about this issue for years. One pays his or her hard earn money to spend $800+ on a new bow only to have it delaminate? Sounds to me either there purposely not getting new limbs or something. Its funny, I've been shooting a Bowtech's since 2005 when I bought my first one and never once had a single issue with limbs. This after owning 12 different bows in this time period. (yes I had a bow buying problem back then, lol). I'm realistic, they have had issues, especially with particular models. But I'd be willing to bet at least half of the issues with these bows having nothing to do with limb construction.
Just bought a BTX-31, and love it. I have been practicing with it on the performance setting and it is maxed out at 60lbs of draw. I shoot around 120 arrows a day or more and have been finding screws backing out constantly. Recently, two evenings ago I started to notice a crackling sound when almost to full draw. Knowing the history behind Bowtechs limbs I am concerned. There have been no pops, or snaps, and I see no cracks visible on the limbs. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
