I've been kind of curious every since I picked up some slick trick 125 magnums. I've been wanting to go to a cut on contact fixed blade head for a couple seasons now and I think I'm finally gonna do it. Well first thing I did was put on some 125 field points and went out to shoot them an found that I get the same point of impact as my 100 field point no difference there. That leads me to think that all I've really lost is speed with the bigger head no prob since my bowtech assasin bow is rated at 333 ibo. I really can't say how much I lost with the 125 but it still seams pretty fast. Now all I have to do is broadhead tune with the slick tricks. Hoping for good results so far so good field point wise. I was talking with my local pro shop and he was saying it wasn't a good move but so far I can't tell what I've lost besides a Lil speed. Anybody else have similar circumstances?

What was the farthest distance that you shot them at ?

While you probably won't notice a difference at 20/30 yards once you get past that there will most likely be a substantial drop.

Your right sir longest distance was at 20 yards which is the distance I stay within shooting whitetail but I guess I need to now go out to 30 plus maybe 40 at the moat and see what I come up with didn't think about that at the time thanks for the advice

When I switch between 100 and 125 grain heads, up to 30 yards, I'm not a good enough of a shot to see any difference. Beyond that you have to adjust your sights.

For Father's Day I got an arrow scale and found that all my "100g" field points are actually more like 120 grams. Then, my broadheads are more like 100 grams.

I would check to make sure all weights of the field points are actually what they are supposed be first and you shooting an arrow at the weight that you think it should be.

Yes sir I also have a grain scale I use my GT field points and come right in at around 126 grains and the magnum slick trick is 130 grains so a 4 grain difference. I'm gonna shoot the slick tricks when I get off today and I will let u guys no what I come up with.

Results from shooting the slick trick magnums with field points at 20 and 30 yds. It took some micro adjustment and this is what I came up with!!!
