I bought a target 3 a while ago, I had to order some springs for it an they just showed up today, I've already taken the release apart and the previous owner had attempted to paint the release bright green and got it all over the inside of the release... I've gotten most of it off just scrubbing it while using a cleaner but it's still stuck on some pieces and I've pretty much got the outside cleaned up... Is there an easier way to clean this up? I'd rather not send it in because I'm in need of this release this weekend for my final days of turkey season. One of the parts keeps sticking because of the amount of paint on it and the inside..

Soak metal parts in acetone, for a few hours. Or over night if real bad. Then clean off all parts with de-natured alcohol, to get rid of the oily residue, from the acetone... Good luck.
