CE Piledriver PXT

I have been contemplating on purchasing piledriver's. I see they are small diameter shafts, my question(s) are they durable, does most broadheads (G5) screw in without adapters, is it advisable to use with nock collars on them? For those use use them what's your experience?

The Pile Drivers come in a standard size shaft also. I just bought 3 to test out and decide if I want to use them this year.

 

Very good and popular hunting shaft. If i was going with CE, i'd check out the Pile Driver pass thru extremes.

 

I have used the pass thru extremes. An don't have anything bad to say about them. 1 season I killed 3 whitetail with the same shaft but it finally broke in a mule deer. I didn't get a complete pass thru with him but he was a big deer.
An he broke it off. The standard size seemed to be nice to tho

I didn't think they had collars. But I didn't use them an i had no trouble with their durability

thanks for the info! When they did break, where, on the tip, or nock end?

 

I shot the pass through extremes for a couple of seasons and found them great in both durability and accuracy
I think my finished weight was around 470grns at 29 1/4'' shooting 350's

I like mine. I shoot use them to shoot hogs. Finished arrow weight is 496gr. Now is very quite & accurate out to 60yrds. I've put a couple through fence pickets, just clean them up re-fletch them keep shooting.

 

CE PXT, these are the shafts that I've purchased.

 

The PXT's do not use a nock collar so nothing to worry about there. They also have a half-in/half-outsert since they're a small diameter shaft and Easton has a patent on the H.I.T. They will accept any standard thread broadhead without an issue.

I shot 4 animals with them last year and had great success. The only one that broke was a low shot that hit the back of the front leg joint and then buried in his sternum. 2 of them were total pass throughs with the arrow stuck in the ground. The last was my mule deer which was a total pass through but the arrow didn't come out due to the fact that it hit a rock wall on the opposite side of the deer. The arrow fell out as he ran away and was in perfect condition.

I fully intend on shooting them for whitetails again this fall.
