Hey everyone. Looking to get some Easton bloodlines this year. The spine chart shows I can go with 480(6.8) or 400(7.7) and I will be adding arrow wraps. I have a 27in draw, pulling 63lbs on Mathews chill and using 100gr broadheads. Will mostly be used for hunting purposes. Which spine should I get?
I'm no expert but at 63 pounds I think you would be better off with the 400 I'm currently shooting 400's of the easton axis arrows and i'm only pulling about 52-55 pounds
I added your specs in their arrow selection chart on Easton and 400 spine bloodlines is what the computer suggests.
I ran it through a program which has worked for me and your ideal spine with the specs provided assuming standard insert, nock, vanes is a .350 for a 26" arrow. Increasing the length, tip weight, or both would put you in a 330 and decreasing arrow length, tip weight or insert would put you closer to a 400. The program tends to recommend on the stiffer side but like I said I've had good results. In fact, the program says a 26" 330 arrow with standard nock, vanes, and inserts tipped with 125 grain spine produces a "perfectly spined arrow for your setup. The downside to stepping up spine is increased weight and slower speed. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
So the program I use is Spinal TAP. I recommend it and you can do some research on it. For that length of arrow it actually recommends a 330 to be "perfect" Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
