So within the next month I should have my new Halon 6. Last year I hunted with a No Cam HTR and had a QAD HDX on it which worked great with next to no issues. The other popular rest people talk about is the NAP Apache rests. What are the main differences from the 2 if anyone has used both of them. More than likely I'll get the QAD but I just want to check all my options before buying. Thank you
I had a HDX on my halon before I sold it but I've been looking at the ripcord ace micro adjust. It has nothing but good reviews and has the micro adjust ability at the same price of the other rest. Not to mention the qad micro adjust is 250$. There's a lot of people a lot my shop that are starting to use them
I think the qad is the better design. Both drop away cable driven.. Personally I like the limb driven rests better
I would get the Apache. Before you buy one give the g5 cmax a look,I have one and its rock solid and is full capture at the push of a button, and its very quiet as there is no arm to hit the riser. Here is a link the the websitehttp://http://www.g5outdoors.com/best-arrow-rest-g5-halo-cmax/
I have them both. Qad on my Chill R & Apache Carbon on my Arena 30, the only thing I don't like about the Apache is you can't flip up the actual rest like the QAD. But I like it quite a bit a specially for the price. I bought 2 of the Apache Carbons for $36 each at academy on clearance. I will be putting the 2nd one on my HTX.
Do you still have your NoCam? If so, I'd give the apache a whirl and can always move the QAD from the old bow to the new one if you don't like it.
I do not, I sold it on craigslist with the QAD on it. I think I'll get the qad again then. I liked that you could have it raised up ready.
Have both. NAP might be just a hair quieter. I think that I like the QAD a little bit better. I also like the "Trophy Taker SmackDown FC" rest a lot too.
I have had the ripcord ace micro for just over a year. I have shot thousands upon thousands of arrows threw it. I love it. and have no interest in buying anything else for quite a while!
